A convergence of hobbies

Indeed, along with the occasional (mis)adventure! :) Funnest dog running of all? The University of Maine at Orono has several miles of blacktop, paved "bike paths." I ran these several times with two (big) dogs, hooked to a climbing harness, on roller-skates. What a ride! But, after a couple of flips and a broken left wrist, I gave it up. :( Oh well.

Roller skates? I'll pass on that one.
One more war story. My friend in Alaska sent me a bungee line and a disconnect link for my idea of bikejoring with one named Bedford. He's 75% (something wild) and 25% dog. I had put a few hundred miles walking with him in the woods but he had never been hooked to anything besides me.
I hook the bike to a tree via QD, connect him to the bike and he's in a special made racing harness. Pull the pin and off we go. Fast and faster. Then I see the mud hole up ahead and hit the brakes. The brakes squealed and he looked back for the first time and saw a bike chasing him. Now Bedford loves to run things down but is not fond of being chased. Still running flat out he did a 180 passed me and the bike then the bungee cord hit. It picked the bike off the ground, spun it around and we a heading back from where we started . His next move was to head for the trees. I was lucky to only get a few cuts and scrapes. Now, we just hike.

Nice rig and great use of the freeware! That's one helluva TLR camera, lol! Makes my little Yashicamat 124 look like a toy, hahaha.

I've often wanted to get more serious about astrophotography, but with the initial expense being what it is, I tend to stick to putting my phone on my spotting scope to take pictures of Saturn and Jupiter and its moons. I sometimes will throw an old manual 2x TC onto a 300mm on my crop sensor digital body and shoot from the hip using "lunar 11" rules. Get some good ones occasionally.

It is an expensive hobby. I've sunk thousands in it and honestly I'm running on entry level equipment. Newer cmos camera's are very capable and the prices are improving.

Very nice. I've played with it off and on but have not gotten serious yet. I've had a Williams Optical scope and the t-ring to adapt my APSC sensor camera for a couple of years. Picked up a field flattner a while back. Maybe I'll get around to it at some point. Too many other projects and commitments currently. This retirement gig schedule is a nightmare. May have to go back to work to free up a little time... NOT!

William optics puts out some nice scopes. I've found that can I only have the time and energy to support two hobbies at a time.
