Herters 222 with Beautiful Wood

My dad built my brother a 222 in the late 60's when my brother was 12 ... The length of pull was too short for anyone in the family ... Something about stocking a gun my dad built made me want to do it justice

Tell us more about your stock, did you buy a blank or glue it up your self, vacuum bag or clamps? What finish did you use? It looks excellent! Inlet with chisels and drills or milling machine?

Back then Fajen made nice walnut stocks for a few bucks.

It appears to be, I’ve got a Herter’s U9 Deluxe in 30-06 that looks like that and it is indeed a BSA action. Great guns!

I had a Herters U9 Deluxe in 270 in the 70's. First gun I ever bought with my own money. It was stolen when my dads house was robbed when I was in college.
