Help with 6PPC neck diameter

OK, new Norma brass 6PPC, neck on rifle is 262, bullet diameter is 244 so I am thinking I need to get to 261 with .001 left, that means I will have to neck turn the cases to .085 (each side), is this going to be safe? Help from the guys with the experience. The old brass I have is Sako 220 Russian and 6PPC and they work, they are about .010 each side. Make sense? Let me know your thoughts please.

I will answer with a question. If the neck is .262 and you want .002 clearance, wouldn't you want a loaded round at .260 OD.? So you would turn to that target? No fancy equipment or math?
thanks Don

I just measured and my necks are .0085"
You want to measure with a seated bullet, they are not all the same diameter. Measure at the pressure ring.

Do I need .002 clearance? and you will have to have "fancy" equipment to turn the necks to specs and be able to do a little math

That is where I have been measuring, seating a bullet, do I need .002 or just .001? Thanks

244 on the bullet ? Who's is it ? Are you measuring with a caliper, or a snap gauge and 243 standard deltronic ?
