Help with 6PPC neck diameter

OK, new Norma brass 6PPC, neck on rifle is 262, bullet diameter is 244 so I am thinking I need to get to 261 with .001 left, that means I will have to neck turn the cases to .085 (each side), is this going to be safe? Help from the guys with the experience. The old brass I have is Sako 220 Russian and 6PPC and they work, they are about .010 each side. Make sense? Let me know your thoughts please.

I will answer with a question. If the neck is .262 and you want .002 clearance, wouldn't you want a loaded round at .260 OD.? So you would turn to that target? No fancy equipment or math?

I turn my Norma to .260" with bullet seated. My neck is also .262 no issues with it.

You want to measure with a seated bullet, they are not all the same diameter. Measure at the pressure ring.

I turned my 262 nk brass to .0087 all the years I used it.

Do I need .002 clearance? and you will have to have "fancy" equipment to turn the necks to specs and be able to do a little math

You can go with a .260, but watch the length, they can go long pretty fast. I like .2595, for a .262 chamber, but thats me.
