Help value my pre-64 Winchester M70 Featherweight .270

I'd have to say the stock finish doesn't look original which would detract from a premium price. Unless its the digital image which shows up sometimes different.

I believe it is just how the picture came out. It does not look that red in person. And I asked my dad and he said he never stained it and that it is all original.

Here is a picture of a random M70 I found online. It looks pretty red too.

If you go back and look at the first pictures I posted in my original listing...dirpfderent lighting conditions...you will see it does not look as red.

Winchester used a red walnut stain(nowadays called Winchester red) and some were more red than others depending on the original color of the wood. And yes that is the original butt plate.

I'd never get rid of it, best bolt action rifle ever. Last year I bought one off Gunbroker, 308, 1960, feather weight, BNIB for $1500.00 and I didn't bat an eye. I have a few pre 64's in match rifle configuration. Plus, and a huge plus, it's your dad's rifle, if you sell it I know you'll regret it. Price? It's priceless.
