Help me learn about Grinding Wheels

I have a bench grinder runs 6" wheels with 1/2" arbor. I want to be able to touch up, possibly reshape tool steel and an occasional carbide boring bar. I did a search, and saw cup type, 1/2" width, and about everything in between. I am a rookie, so looking for user friendly. Thanks for any suggestions.
I also saw different course wheels, and the prices were everywhere. 19.99 to 180.00

I’m not an expert on wheels. I use Norton white wheels for tool steel they are 100 and 150 grit then I hand Stone the tool. Aluminum oxide won’t do for carbide. I have a Baldor tool grinder with diamond wheels on it for carbide tools. Don’t really use it that much. I do have some aluminum oxide wheels for it also for HSS
