Help me decide what rangefinder to buy

Looking to get a new rangefinder and need some help picking one. Like to be able to range a tree or similar object out to at least 800 yards. I’ve kinda narrowed it down to 3. The Bushnell prime 1700, the Leupold RX1400i or the Vortex impact 1000. All are the same price but I was kinda leaning towards the Leupold but wanted to hear opinions from ppl who may have used each one or could recommend another one that’s around the $200 mark. I had a Sig 2200 and was very pleased with it. Upgraded to one with the BDX function. Very nice!

1+ on Sig's BDX rangefinder and scope combo's for a hunting rifle. Not exactly a target scope but good for hunting .

I have a Leica 900 that will easily get you to 800.

I have the Sig Kilo 3000bdx binos and love them. They are decent glass and I have ranged out to 2300 yards with them without issues. As a huge bonus they will link to your Kestrel (with link) and update ranges via Bluetooth

Definitely add Sig to your list. I recently bought the Kilo1800 bdx and have been really impressed. Hunting this year, my buddy and I did a side by side comparison with his Vortex 1800 Ranger. With our two units, the Sig consistantly picked up objects quicker and had a greater range on trees.

I've had my Vortex for a few years. It probably isn't the best but works fine.

I had a pair of Sig binos. A new kitten tossed it on the floor and it broke at the hinge. Sig replaced it no charge with a newer model. People who have looked through them think they cost 2-3 times more than they do.

Sig and Vortex have lifetime warranties. Bushnell and Leupold only have a 2 year warranty. That surprises me I thought Leupold would have lifetime warranty. Probably go with a Sig

Only reason I did not want Leica was due to the Bluetooth connection issues. Sig had the Bluetooth squared away. Not sure if Leica has fixed that yet

Do some more research if your budget will allow it, I’m afraid you will want a better one in the future and have to buy twice like I did. I really like my Vortex hd 4000 now.

I like to think I'm a halfway-skookum guy. I just bought some ear plugs that have Bluetooth, for instance. But I have no idea why anyone would want to "Bluetooth" their rangefinder when they are varmint shooting/hunting. What am I missing?

The Bluetooth sends your range to your kestrel and gives you instant dope. Not always necessary but when you want to spot, range, and engage quickly this is a nice tool

The Leica is stunning superior in optics to most anything I've seen so is useful to just keep around as a general monocular or to spot short range hits even aside from being an LRF. Delighted with mine.

I was searching for one several years ago.
I wanted one to be able to range 1,000 yards or better, but had a very limited budget.
After much research, i ended up buying a SA Sports Dragon Eyez 1500 from Amazon. $250.
It doesn't have the corrected distance for up/down hill, but i have that with the Strelok Pro anyways.
Eye piece is 7X.
Regularly range deer, trees shrubs out to 800 yards. Furthest deer range was 1,090 yards.
Biggest issue is keeping it stable enough when ranging long distance.
And i do use it alot, year round.
