Hearing protection act

There are several good scientific studies that correlate hearing loss with faster onset of brain disease as we age. There are a lot of ways to present this bill in the light of decreasing healthcare costs and improving quality of life as we age. Any well prepared person could readily defend this bill as about more than just giving gun nuts suppressors.
Man, am I screwed...

I will say, my 338 TBAC can IS dangerous and a threat! I have a holster I carry it in and could deploy it
in a moments notice to whack some one upside the head. No wounder they made me get a permito_O
I also am getting Tinnitus, and it's not from the quite I've been around.

Not nitpicking, they were never classified as a firearm, it is considered an NFA item. Therefore requiring a federal tax stamp. NFA being a law enacted in 1934.
The BATFE never really handles your payment, make no mistake, the money is theirs, but opening the envelope and cashing the checks is outsourced to a bank as far as I know. Then the forms are transferred to the BATFE and supposedly filed in order of receipt.
EDIT: My last 2 submissions, one a form 4, one a form 1(SBR) were mailed to separate addresses, approved one day apart by the same examiner. We all have our beefs with them, and no they are not going to miss lunch or work even 1 minute of overtime to approve you, but they are somewhat efficient, cough, cough. Most approvals fall into time frames associated with work load, and if one of yours was delayed for extended times, it was most likely in background checks because some clown with the same name somewhere is a dirt bag, lol
I went through some of this on being denied for a firearm purchase. Same name as the dirt bag deal. It got stretched out for months, ATF were not friendly. They wouldn’t take electronic fingerprints, only the old ink kind. Try to find somebody to do that these days, I really thought I was going to have to get a attorney. Finally I had the thought to get a appointment with the nearest FBI office. It was a high security deal. Agent I dealt with said he hadn’t done ink prints in 25 years and had to scramble to even find a kit to do it. It finally got resolved and I got my UPIN number. If it hadn’t been for that face to face meeting with that agent, I don’t know where it was headed.

My problem with that, is every Joe Blow that decides to suck a cigarette expects Medicare to cover his expensive health care that can be directly traced to his smoking at end of life. It's not simply choosing to do it. It's how that choice affects society as a whole. It's why your car has to be built to pass emissions, and your daily products can't contain poisons. Your choice is the problem. Hearing comes into the exact same boat. Hearing loss has massive costs associated. If you choose to go deaf by not using hearing protection, then you should have to pay for it, not your family and society but there's no fair way to do that so we have to restrict your liberty (choices) to ensure it isn't infringing on the millions of other people in this country.

You damn right smokers should expect Medicare to pay for their medical bills. Where do you think the Medicare money comes from? Should it pay for your hospital bills if you got into a wreck and you were speeding? You knew you shouldn’t but did it anyway. I’m not a smoker but I know a lot of smokers that work just as hard or harder than I do and that money is taken outa their check just like mine. Using your thought process I should be mad at people for having more than one kid considering how much they cost and it’s driving up everyone insurance premiums.
