I was just wondering if it is a decent case for the money. I have several oversized rifles and it looks like it would work but more interested in someone that actually has one in hand. How good the zipper works ? I have had a couple cases that didn't have YKK zippers. They bind and I hate them,LOL If someone could help or suggest something different that doesn't cost a fortune , I would be grateful.

I have three of them, Jon. Obviously I think they are a good value. Thick padding and good construction. I don't use the shoulder straps because they kind of get in the way when opening the case, but other than that I have been pleased with them.

Oh, re the zippers. They work great after application of some Zipper Lube (kind of like Chap Stick but in a larger size, I believe I got it through REI).

I bought one few months back. No complaints and padded nicely. I like the side pockets too. Keep a few handy tools in there and never forget them

I have one, Nice case for short trips ,fits a 30" + brake but like posted before the zippers suck.
One works ok the other not so much. You just have to remember witch one to open with ( 2 way zippers.)
They are on sale now @ bullets . com.!!might get another one.

No experience with the bullets.com case, but I have one from Creedmoor Sports and the zippers work great on it. It is a really well made case. I have had it for over a year and use it a lot.

Is the creedmore 52 inches or is it shorter?

Thanks for the responses but never wanted it to turn into a bashing contest. I apologize to Shiraz as I didn't think such a simple question would turn into a bashing thread. Shiraz I will be ordering one shortly.

Apologies Shiraz and jonbearman, I was informed otherwise. Perhaps your design was the one stolen as they are identical. As I said, I have two of yours and they work very well.
The company in question stated that they had been making the cases for quite some time. Does not mean it is true I suppose.

I also have 2 of them and they work great.

I also have a Prone2Sucess case made by a gentleman up north. I bought it from him while we were at Lodi a few years ago. It has also served me well.

I have 3 of Shiraz's cases and they are excellent. I also have a Prone2Success and it is an excellent case but not as long as the Bald Eagle. My F-Open rifles use up to 32 inch barrels with a 16 inch plus length of pull and they fit in a Bald Eagle but not the Prone2Success unless I remove the butt pad. If you need a really long case, AIM Field Sports in the UK makes the biggest I've found but you can buy several Bald Eagles for the same price.

Get an ordinary candle and rub both sides of the zipper against the side of the candle. The candle wax is an excellent lubricant for zippers.

This stuff makes the Bald Eagle case zippers work very smoothly. I use it on them and on any other zippered bags I have.

Thanks for the business.

Just FYI - we have several new models coming out (shipment just left factory) of new design Bald Eagle rifle cases. By new design I mean some longer, some different colors, some shorter for the AR type guns with back pack style carry with several magazine pockets etc.

Not to discourage anyone thinking of ordering the current model, though as it is a good buy. The heavy padding is where the protection of the guns takes place. The zipper lube is a good idea and will have to try some on the cases I use as well. By sheer coincidence, the people that make the zipper lube (McNett) are located in the same city where I live, about 5 blocks from my business!

I have a similar bag from Midway that fits my 30" barrel plus tuner/brake. The zipper works fine as long as I keep the inner guard out of the way!
I was not aware of Shiraz's case as I would have purchased one of those!

Maybe you can distribute it for them, it would be a nice add-on for people to buy with any of your cases (the range bags too).

I have one Bald Eagle and it's just a soft case with cheap padding. I have used Battle Lake Outdoors cases for years and you can not beat them for protection in a semi soft case. The price has gone up a fair amount over the years but it's twice the case that's made in small town America for not a lot more money.

I have 2 of the Bald Eagle cases, and am quite pleased, and will likely buy another in the next few months.

I did remove the shoulder straps, as they just got in the way. No problems with the zippers or the padding.
