Has anybody tried this primer pocket swage

Couple of years ago someone showed a rig for similar function. If it provides comparable target performance, it beats the cost of new Lapua brass and fireforming. I load on the hotside and suffer loose primers all too often, and would welcome reviews.

This is basically the Old Hart case saver. It does work, but not for long and it's all dependant on how hard you hit it, so obviously you have to factor human error.

Look up the Henry Rempel "nud" this works well and as it's used in a Reloading press you get the same force applied every time. I have had both and the Henry Rempel is the one to go for, you will get at least two extra firings.

Thank you Elwood for your response to the primer pocket swage. Sorry I didn’t get back sooner. After reading your reply and following the link to the Hart tool ( which Guffey took over). I was too confused and forgot to reply. I did a little research on the Hart tool and found out the metal was too soft and just mushroomed over. After running hot loads in a Dasher and only getting 6 to 8 firings out of Lapua brass I thought this may extend the brass life a little longer but the Hart tool if similar to the MSP tool didn’t have good reviews and Midway discontinued carrying it.

I have an RCBS swager tool, and have tried to use it with a non-RCBS press. It doesn't work well. The swager pin sticks in the primer pocket, and is tough to remove. I hear the RCBS press has a feature that will hold the washer under the case head, and use it to pull the swaged case off the pin. My press doesn't have that, so it takes a lot of awkward prying to get it off.

It also takes a lot of force to swage the pockets. A lot more than full-length sizing. So you have to have a really strong press.

I find it easier to drill the pocket out with a #4 drill, and then countersink the mouth of the primer pocket.

The reviews on Midway are correct, the metal is soft and it's open to human error. The Henry Rempel "Nud" solves the problems and works a treat, you do however have to purchase a RCBS primer pocket swagger tool to use the Nud. But as I say because it's used in a Reloading press it's very repeatable.
Brass in the U.K. Is very expensive, I expect half of the folks in the US would give up shooting if you paid what we have to pay and I'm running four tight neck 7mm's at good speeds so getting a couple of extra firings without compromising accuracy or safety is a real bonus.
