Harrisburg Pa sports show bans black rifles

Postponed means cancelled. ;D

I wonder who is going to handle SHOT next year. I propose they have it in Tulsa.

Right now, Reed's on notice. They may have just blew it big time.

Even as they went down in flames due to their own error in judgement, Reed Exhibits just doesn't get it. It was the lead-off item on the noon news on our local NBC affiliate (we're about 25 minutes south Harrisburg), and assuming Reed was quoted accurately, they were whining about having to "postpone" the show because "a few" exhibitors withdrew, spoiling it for the rest of the slightly over 1000 exhibitors. The last count I had of withdrawals was 233 and counting, the same as mentioned in a post above; that's over 20% of the exhibitors that withdrew, and 20% isn't "a few", it's a whole big bunch. My congratulations and ongoing support to all the exhibitors who had the courage of their convictions and acted on them. Thanks to all of you for taking a stand and withdrawing from the show.

Reed has figured out one thing with regard to positive PR; rather than risk even more bad publicity, they claim that they will shortly inform all exhibitors about how to get a refund of the fees they paid.

Over 1,500 views, and 3 pages of participation about this one current event? Radicals, all of you!!!

This actually is a big deal. This annual event drew ( in past tense) hundreds of thousands from the entire Northeast. This thread could save a lot of regular attendees from wasting gas traveling to an event that was cancelled. I have not attended the past several years BECAUSE the number of firearm and related booths were dwindling to nothing. If you weren't going to look at boats, fishing equipment, or to book a hunt....it was a total waste of time and money.
I forgot, it was also an opportunity to bitch to the PGC.

Maybe this will bring back the VFW shows and smaller events that I personally miss where you could go in and get a couple bargins and buy stuff from local vendors.

I am glad to see EVERYONE, (the entire outdoor industry) stand up for what we all believe in.
But nobody is a winner in this, except possibly the anti-gunners, the economic hit that this will have on everybody from the people that park the cars at the show to tremendous costs and loss of revenue of all of the vendors who have traveled from around the world and depend on the sales and bookings they get at Harrisburg to get them through the year.

I see this as another sad day for America, and the freedoms that our constitution used to guarantee us.

Laws and principles are not for the times when there is no temptation: they are for such moments as this, when body and soul rise in mutiny against their rigour ... If at my convenience I might break them, what would be their worth?”
