Harrisburg Pa sports show bans black rifles

The Harrisburg sports show has banned black rifles, all accesories, and even the brochures. There is a movement on to boycott the show. Scotty

The last few years ive gone it seems like the only things worth going there for are if you want to plan a hunting trip, fishing trip or shoot in the archery competition. They dont really have guns.

You r exactly spot on. If you want to book a trip and get raped buy these high dollar outfitters that have been displaying the same mounts for years then make the trip. In the past there were a few custom gun builders. Large archery room, rv room, fishing and boating room, and outfitters galore. Nothing for the shooting sport. It is nice to spend a day walking around and sight seeing.

Yup...the sports show went to hell over a dozen years ago....about the time the "Hunting Hotties" stopped exhibiting their "stuff".
Perhaps a call to a vendor like Shyda's out of Lebanon could confirm this. Other than Borden Rifles from Springville, the show has no appeal to me anymore.

If you boycott no one will notice a thing as this is an agenda that is part of the trickle down affect that obama hopes for DIVISION.

Great point. Borden is 20 minutes away from me but the show is 2 hours. ;D

This type of sports show has been going the way of the doodoo bird for years. The internet has displaced the need to attend shows that tend to be over priced on everything (admission, parking, booth cost)to learn what is new for 2013. A few clicks of the mouse will find it for you. They have turned into basically "outfitter" shows. The cost of a booth and lodging has taken most retailers out of sport shows. You need to move a treamendous amount of product to break even. So why go thru all that work?

Gun shows on the other hand have not seen the decrease in attendance.A local gun show a couple weeks ago had a line extending out the doors & down the length of the building at opening time. At 2 pm the line was the same. The building has a fire rating of 3000 persons so there were a few there.

One of the local papers (York Daily Record) published this story on 1/17; the "reasons" given by the promotor were pretty lame, but the holding company which owns the promotion team is a British outfit, so that's not a big surprise.

Hey guys,i live in Bainbridge Penna,i live 12 miles from the Harrisburg show and a few miles from what is called Trop Gun Shop in Elizabethtown, Penna, they specialize in Tactical Gear, they always have a stand at the show and backed out when they were informed of the change at the show, heres there number if you like to speak to someone about questions you may have about the show 1-717-367-5585 (there isn,t anything there that interest me anymore, staying home)

JMO, It costs money to get in. It costs money to park. You are paying money to see other peoples advertisements and products. They ought to pay you to come.JMO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I went with my grandfather about 12-15 years ago. It was awesome. We got survival knives, won a casting contest and watched them display i believe it was the flying lure in the fish tank. We of course loved anything our military heros used. Dummy grenades assault rifles etc... I couldnt imagine what these people would think of my twin and i if we were to run around now like that..

I go to the show every year with my buddies. We spend plenty of money and stay in Harrisburg overnight. This year we'll have to take a stand. We will not be going.

I just sent a check to the NRA with some of the money I just saved on hotels and restaurants.
