Forget the proper name of this gun show slated for the first part of FEB. I think(?) it's held there every year. Any members heard of it and is it worth travelling 4 hours to get there?

If you do a search, I'm pretty sure this came up last year. If I remember, a few guys went and reported on it.

"Great American Outdoor Show" , I went two years back and have plans of going this year.. Many manufacturers and guns to fondle.. Large show with everything related to the Outdoor sports..

Yes it's worth it. Changed hands a few years ago after the original group that sponsored it ran into issues do to their stand on semi autos. The aftermath caused the show to be cancelled for one year. I go every year that my schedule allows it.
FYI bring more money than you think you'll need since you will always buy more than you planned to.

Went a few years ago. Hard to get parking, but otherwise good. Four or five big showrooms. I spent almost whole day in gun area before I realized that guides, bows, fishing, camping were in OTHER building area! I bought a 25 cal Marauder...one of my best buys ever.

I stayed at a Holiday inn about 4 miles away and it was nasty. They had a bus that took ya if you wanted to ride on it...I followed it to get there easy...did not want to sit on that nasty bus either.

Yes Parker, I would stay on the eastside and grab a bus from Bass Pro. Hell I have an extra room and it's only 40 minutes to Bass Pro!

Havn't been too this show as yet as i was going to go then found out it had been canceled, now that NRA is running things it's biger and better than before i have been to the Farm Show Buildings when my dog showing in their big Dog show is a BIG place several buildings and the parking was $5.00 dollars all day

After my last experience with this show, you couldn't pay me to go. Add another hour to your trip to get off the interstate and to a remote parking spot. Harrisburg is basically bankrupt, the mayor hates the NRA and tried to put the squeeze, I call it extortion, on them for a "donation" just to allow their off duty police to work security. Some may disagree but I refuse to go to this show until the NRA moves it to another location outside the city. It's not only a nightmare traffic wise but the facilities are a byzantine mish mash of buildings, afterthought additions and tight quarters. YMMV.

I would agree to moving it to a less liberal city!!! the show is huge and plenty to take up your day.

when they banned AR and even pics of Assult weapons, Sponsors shut doun the show that year and Harisburg lost 80 Million! that was awesome!!!

unfortunately it has the room for it! now the NRA took over, from a even more liberal previous sponsor....so all is way better!

be sure to say hi to JB at euro optics booth!!!

The best & largest gun/hunting/sportsman show in the northeast. You could easily spend two days at the show and still miss plenty of exhibits and activities. Two day passes are available.
There are MANY hotels in a short driving distance. I have stayed in several of them and had no problems. Some offer discount rooms if booked in advance for the show.
Prepaid tickets can get you in a bit quicker if you are there before they actually open. By lunchtime you can find sporadic parking and its easy to get in.
It is a great place to speak to outfitters from virtually everywhere, not just in the USA. I have booked several biggame hunts at the show.
The NRA runs the show and ther are mre firearms displayed there then ever. They also reap whatever profits the original (British) promoter was getting.
If you've never been there, I'd highly recommend it. You can stop in at the Cabelas in Hamburg on the way out!!
A good way to idol away a few freezing cold days in February.
