Hand loaded 22lr is going to happen!

4227 is a Magnum powder and Lil gun is not...so yea its got more gas.
Dont know if its the ticket...but I think its better.

I think the 22lr is the place to start. After a good baseline and some experience then mess around with another loading step. My concern would be introducing too many variables at one time. Keep it simple and grow as time and positive results accumulate.

Looks like a .22 cal copy of the LAPUA D46 .30 cal bullet

Gotta say that it is an interesting project. Gotta ask what .22 rf competition rules allow for pulled\reloaded ammo? I have to think most would balk at allowing them for no other reason than their lawyers.

Prs22 and nrl22 currently do not have rules against this ammo. Neither does ELR22. What would lawyers have to do with allowing hand loaded ammo? Just about every shooting completion besides 22lr has a large number of hand loaded ammo and hasn’t caused a problem...

This is cool! Makes me think of the 22 Squirrel (a 22 Hornet chopped down to 1", I believe), which I briefly considered.View attachment 1208563
Ripped this picture from a quick Google search. It does not belong to me but I also didn't find any copyrights or claims of ownership.
Man I need something just like this. Been considering a .22 hornet contender barrel, to load 80gr .224s, but didnt know what powder would get me down to subsonic range.

I’ve been slacking on updates here. The second gen bullet is in hand and ready for testing once the next barrel shows up. This will be for testing different than standard barrel geometry to gain speed and reduce pressure. I also grabbed a couple other powders to try that fall between LilGun and Longshot. Gen1 on left and Gen2 on the right. We gained 1.1gr on the new one.89FF1F42-8EFA-4587-B735-560FBCFA7249.jpeg8C953B39-AAD2-470A-B692-7CD128D794E5.jpeg

This stuff is way above my pay grade but I’m proud some of you guys are smart enough to figure this out. Keep us posted on how I all works out.
