Group grand agg competition.

Well, I shot the 6x50 HV rifle today. It is not as finicky. However, I was chasing mirage all over the place and I am just learning. It is my own fault. If I hadn't rolled over for another hour sleep this morning, conditions would have been perfect. No mirage, 1-2 mph wind. But noooo! Lazy bones slept in! It got ugly right out of the gate...

I am learning so much. The slightest changing in the low winds moved the TARGET image, not so much the bullet. Finding that 1/8 or less change in Point of aim to try to drop the next one in was SO satisfying when it happened, till it didn't! I am so enjoying this. Thanks to our organizer for doing this.
Now, off to anneal, resize, and develop a new load cause I have to change primers...I ran out of FGM. Only have CCI 400. And I gotta figure out this 200 yard stuff.

The rest pictured was part of the photo sent me by the guy I bought the gun from. It is one of the better and easily accessible photos I have of the gun so I used it. I didn't get the rest with the sale. I got the barrels, nutcrackers, action wrench and bore guide. I have a PA built Bald Eagle rest.

So had time this morning to shoot the 100 yard portion. Wouldn’t you know it, I forgot my rear bag. I guess shooting with a crappy rear bag doesn’t always hurt, shot some of this guns best groups today. Numbers were nothing special.

Very nice shooting. Did u clean in between groups or just shoot straight thru? Thanks.
I went straight through. Shot the first two targets, took a few minute break, shot 3, took a few more minutes, then shot 4&5. No cleaning between. Not sure what happened on target 3.

As you mentioned the rear bag may have been a contributor to the open # 3 group even though the others were tighter. Getting solid and comfortable on that rear bag every shot is a huge part of anchor holding. And you were having to stack bait under it too.

I really thought I had no chance when I got started. All the pieces slid every shot. I tried a few combos. But surprisingly, I would shimmy them all together to get me back on POA and it did its job.

This was the combo I started with when I was shooting the BR.

Absolutely, I would say you pulled it off very nicely with what you had to work with.

Well I made it out this morning to 100 yds with 222 rem. It sure was ugly. Target 4 is the norm for this rifle but the driver sure didn't do his job today. I've never shot this new barrel at 200 yds yet maybe I can redeem myself. We will see. Wow sure was ugly.
Just so it's understood what ever Scott measures the targets to be that's what they are! No arguments from me!

2 in the fours never feels good, but you still have 5 more to make it better

Will be interesting to see how the measurements compare. Is that ballistic x easy to use? Would have to be pretty idiot proof for me.
