Got a delima need input

I just made another rifle purchase from the classifieds. Before this purchase I was going to buy a new Kowa 883 spotting scope and eyepiece. Now here's my delima I only have enough funds to either buy a scope for this rifle or go ahead and get the Kowa and swap scopes from my other Bat action to this one as I use it. I've never done the scope swap thing so not sure how well suited this is especially if I want to use both rifles at a match. My other bat action has the same scope rail setup so nothing special is needed there just the wrench to swap out.

So do I buy a new scope for rifle and wait on a spotter or do I go with plans for the spotter and wait on the scope? I'm making do without the spotter now but I still see the need for it but I also now see the need for a scope for the rifle.
So input sure would be nice from guys who maybe do scope swaps and or can give input beyond what may be helpful for me.

Here's another idea that may work for you.

Make your rifle a switch barrel. Write down your different zeros and then you don't have to swap the scope, just the barrel, and possibly a bolt.

All my rifles are switch barrels already so that's not going to do me much good.

I bought a very good spotting scope that I rarely use.
The scopes on my rifles meet my need, maybe your's will as well.

All my rifles are switch barrels already so that's not going to do me much good.

You could mow some lawns for extra money or sell the rifle and just switch barrels instead of scopes.

Buy a new scope. You can't look through a spotting scope and your rifle scope at the same time, lol.

It works in F-Class, seems like it would be even easier off a bench.

James, I've used a single match scope for several years now, swapped between rifles. I've even swapped in the middle of the match when I had an issue with my active rifle. Not a problem if you keep good records on your zero and in particular, if you use a known starting point on your scope for elevation and windage. Erik Cortina actually did a video on using your elevation knob like a micrometer, which is the same method I use. When I swapped in the middle of the match, I just checked my records for the zero and away I went.

Thanks everyone, after some thought I believe I'm best suited adding the scope over the spotter. The spotter is more of a want item over a real need. The scope will most likely get used much more than the spotter. If my next NF competition is as good as my current one I'll be happy. I could actually see 22 cal holes this past weekend at 600 yards.

I love the Kowas, and thought they were the best. I had a chance to look through the NF spotter this weekend. We could see 6mm holes in the white at 1000 yds. Its the best spotter I have used.

Meopta makes the NF spotter and is cheaper than NF

I can back up what James said about seeing 22 cal.bullet holes in his target at 600 yards, even with some mirage, I looked through it and saw for myself he got a good one.

I know you are going with a new scope but it is very easy to swap scope for a few rifles. Just keep the info for each rifles zero. Then just swap and adjust. At this point one shot and you should be at your zero.

What are you going to use the spotter for? If just for 600 yard IBS I would not waste your money....unless you have plenty extra!
