most accurate rifle under $500?

Dusty will like this story: I went into an LGS to see what they had. Back in the corner, I found an old, sporterised 1903 for $300. It was in good shape and even had a cheap scope on it. I went home to “think about it”. The next day, I went back to buy it and it was gone. I’m still kicking myself here, a year later.:(

Savage 12FV from Cabelas most are 1/2 MOA right out of the box and at $420.00 it's a good deal. I have one in 6.5 Creedmoor with over 2500 rounds down the barrel and it still shooting great. Comes in 204, 223 , 22-250, 6.5, 308 . A heavy barrel precision shooter. Happy Veterans Day to All.

First 3 shots out of a new Ruger American 22-250 with an 8 twist. New SIG brass, h414, 55gr sp from hornady. It went down hill from there haha.

I have had good luck with my Savage rifles. My R700 adl 223 shot roughly moa with AE military ammo. I bought it for the action, I didnt feed it anything match grade.

In my shop, small, Tikkas are not under 500 bucks. They are however the best bang for the buck. Agree with every description here, yet if I had a cheap ADL or Ruger American sitting next to a Tikka of the same caliber, the average good ol' boy will pick up the American made gun every time - even though it's rougher than a cob by comparison.

I really like the predator as a coyote rifle. I'm using the Leupold Varmint reticle and with a range finder yotes to 500 are rather easy. That fluted bolt sure is nice. I hunted muleys in eastern Oregon in the 80s. Beautiful country. Have fun.

Tikka probably has the best action in this price range although depending on location they may be a bit over your budget. Savage are generally always shooter and the Ruger American Predator would be an option as well.
