Got 2 Shots Of Moderna & Tested Positive Today

Took my wife almost a month to get over her reaction to the J&J shot. I only had a sore arm for about 3 days and ached a bit. 5 months later the Delta fairy came to visit both of us. Lasted just shy of 2 weeks.
I am glad you and yours recovered from Delta. You may be further proof that, while the shot won't keep you from getting it, it can keep from being a morbid statistic.
I got the Modernas and never gave it a second thought. Why? Well in 2010 I was diagnosed with Lymphoma Stage 4. Those eight months of chemo sessions pumped enough poison thru my veins that I knew that little gubmint shot wasn't gonna get me.

Had the Moderna shots in February & March (before much of the controversy). At 77, it was pushed that I would die without them. 2 weeks ago yesterday, I was exposed and 3 days later I had it - probably delta - down for 4 days, couple of days recovering. Used the home swab to verify the antigens. Doctor said don't bother me unless you are hospitalized - there's nothing to prescribe unless you are dying. Ran swab again this morning clear of antigens.

Don't know if the vax ameliorated the Covid, but I don't feel the need for boosters at these point.

I am retired and drive school bus. Felt like dung for the last few days and threw a low-grade temp today. Over to the V.A. I went and had them drill their Q-Tip up into my brain............Still have taste & smell, I had better cook off those marinating NY strips before that goes away. I will be sitting tight for the next few weeks ( quarantining )........Wish I had a back yard range,,,,, ;)

Oh Well......It Is What It Is....:(

Regards
Rick
I’ve got a lot of brass that needs prepped.. I could send you to take your mind off things..kidding get well soon

Who said the vaccine prevents catching covid?

Now show the one where it shows the percentage of each on a vent drowning in their own secretions.

2 weeks ago the ICU at my hospital, the average covid death was 35 years old. 2-3/day. Happens enough where you don’t even break conversation when code blue is called overhead

If the population has a high vaccination rate, then of course the number infected is high. Vaccine keeps you away from me doing the PVC challenge on you and flipping you onto your stomach on a vent (proning).

Think about it like this: RSV can absolutely kill a kid. I’ve seen it. It doesn’t hurt older people, however. Why? Because we have seen it over and over and over again until our bodies readily fight it off. So, natural vaccine (antibodies). Are the antibodies made when you actually contract and recover from covid better/longer lasting? Maybe. I have not looked into enough studies. Are the antibodies made from receiving the vaccine good enough to keep you off a ventilator? Absolutely.

And yes, the monoclonal antibodies are pretty banging.

Also, I just had shot #3, 8 months to the day after my 2nd. No clue how high antibodies were. Don’t care. Doesn’t matter. Never caught it somehow before my first vaccine in December. That’s the only time I had antibodies drawn and I was negative. I work in the literal soup of covid.

What is interesting is that we are having to swab everyone that is admitted just to know if the floors have to grown up and stuff. Some of these positives are coming from folks from incidental findings… like, paw paw got his vaccines in April and today he fell and has a broken wrist. Chest X-Ray good, paw paw isn’t coughing and his oxygen is great, sitting in bed watching the weather channel on room air. Absolutely asymptomatic. Now he’s got real (natural) antibodies and never even knew that he had covid.

I was getting ready to head to CA. on the 15th for 2 weeks of metal detecting and just yesterday my nephew happens to mention that they aren't vaccinated. I've had my 2 shots and the booster. The kicker for me is that because of other medical issues I am immunosuppressed and don't really know if I should go.

Work in a high school of 2000 students. No protocol's, no masks, no nothing. Covid rates are rising among the students and staff. Being high risk, I had my Pfizer booster shot two weeks ago. Hoping that if I get the disease, that the effects are mild and pass by quickly...

Answer: NOBODY (with any brains).

But those who do get vaccinated are much less likely to die after catching it. Those who don't are the ones occupying all the ICU beds.

This virus isn't going away anytime soon, not for decades, if ever I suspect. And EVERYONE is going to catch it or an even more lethal variant sooner or later. The only question is, will you let it kill you, or will you take steps to guard your health. OP did his best to make sure that it wouldn't be a life ending event, should he catch Covid, and happily, he going to live to crow about it.

What do you have to lose?

I'm immunosuppressed as well with CLL and recently found out through my own research what my exposure to Corvid "D" is like having had the booster after 2 shots earlier this year. I wanted to have a good idea where I stand with my particular disease. I was really pretty surprised that my risk at my age 74 with this disease is greater than I thought. I figured the effectiveness of the Pfizer vaccine wouldn't be as great for someone my age nor with this disease as younger and more healthy people. But I had no idea what the numbers were. And the numbers, which I got from a medical journal, are something like this: for healthy people this vaccine is 90%+ effective (don't remember the exact number now); for those with CLL as I have it, it's ~55%. That's not a great number, but it's better than nothing. So, I figure I just have to be even more cautious than I was before and at least I can still go shooting outdoors with pretty reasonable feeling of being mostly safe. So, now the one thing I make a point of is to stay away of crowded indoor gatherings, especially since the rate of infections has gotten so high and too many people not willing to take precautions.

Since you're immunosuppressed, when your traveling, just be extra careful. Be well!

I can tell you that if it was me, I would change my plans. Anyone who hasn't been vaccinated at this point is not taking the virus serious enough. They may or may not think a mask is necessary, going to crowded areas is Ok and think it's no big deal. Too many people are dying with those thoughts and in doing so they risk others health. I've been vaccinated, but I also know the vaccine is not 100% protection. Without the vaccine, there is no protection.

COVID Vaccine or not. It is your choice. I know no one who has taken one of the three vaccines offered and suffered any complications. My second Moderna dose my body gave the same reaction as my annual flu shot. I felt dragged out for the afternoon but took two Tylenol and a nap to get over it. Am I niave enough to believe I will not get COVID. HELL NO! Does the vaccine work? HELL YES! How do I know? I have watched friends and relatives who were adamant about not taking the vaccine because "they don't know what's in it" suffer a horribly slow and agonizing death. Not just one either. Everyone of the anti-vaxers that has contracted COVID (Delta) has passed.
The numbers below represent one day only at UAB Hospital in Birmingham, AL

I’ve had it twice and nothing. Still here.and no vaccine

Are you a [expletive] Biden supporter? I know many that have had the vaccine and still have gotten covid. You must believe everything your told
What he posted is truth. Just because it doesn’t align with what you want to believe does not make it not true. Yup, vaccinated can still catch it and spread it. They aren’t the ones going on vents and ECMO.

Awesome! I’ll tell the next one’s family that I have to call that Matt got it twice and he’s fine! That’ll brighten their day.

I trust the numbers of those dying or not dying to convince me the vaccine helps a lot, and not having it puts your life at risk a lot more than necessary. It really is a no brainer.
You may or may not know someone who has been vaccinated and got the Virus, it happens, and they probably survived. There are hundreds of thousands who didn't get vaccinated and died.

677,017 have died Stateside up to last full day's count, 67,100 in California, according to the international statistics I rely on. And that CA figure alone for COVID is higher than the average number of flu deaths recorded in the US over the last 10 years.

If you read what he posted you wouldn’t be so dumb. He posted false info.
And if you exercised more, you wouldn’t be a c-cup. I can do ad-hom attacks, too, sweetie.

What he posted is in-line with current studies. Source: I read the studies. I didn’t “dO My OwN REsEaRcH” on Facebook and other echo chambers that support what I want to believe.

What was false about his post? Please cite your sources. Make sure they are peer-reviewed. I’ll give you the cases, as stated in my post, because everyone admitted gets tested, vaccine or not, symptomatic or not, regardless of what they are admitted for.

I’m going to sleep so I can shoot in the AM. Y’all be easy.

OP and anyone else that has it, may you get well soon.

I’m still not “vaxed”
Reading the fine print in thePfizer and Moderna I am unable to take either one.

I have psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis, which I take Humira for.
Foot notes on both say no go.

I went to my doctor on Tuesday because I messed up my left Achilles’ tendon and he is pushing me to take the vaccine. When i told him of what I read he said he would research it and get back to me on which ones are safe for me to take.
Almost 4 full business days and still no answer.

what chaps my ass hard is that it is technically not even a vaccine at all.
Yet that is all everyone keeps referring it as.
it is a shot at best just like the flu shot which by the way messes both my brother and I up when we get them.
my last flu shot was 2008.
last time I had the flu and bronchitis was also 2008.

as far as the companies being free from any liabilities if you should have a reaction to the COVID cocktail.
should that now be lifted and they be held liable seeing as how the golden FDA approval has been rubber stamped ?
