Got my shots 3 months ago Got covid at a wedding 4 weeks ago. Symptoms not to bad. Fever one night lost taste and smell Lasted about 4 days, My wife was with me the whole time. Shared Ice T the night I got sick, Woke up sneezing every were the night I had the fever, She never got sick. I had her tested at CVS. The truth is 9 out of 10 people will get it in the next 3 years. It will be in the flu shots. Just like H1N1 still is. Bottom line You can run. But you cant hide. Its like the wind. You cant stop it. I will probably get it again before its all over with.

COVID Vaccine or not. It is your choice. I know no one who has taken one of the three vaccines offered and suffered any complications. My second Moderna dose my body gave the same reaction as my annual flu shot. I felt dragged out for the afternoon but took two Tylenol and a nap to get over it. Am I niave enough to believe I will not get COVID. HELL NO! Does the vaccine work? HELL YES! How do I know? I have watched friends and relatives who were adamant about not taking the vaccine because "they don't know what's in it" suffer a horribly slow and agonizing death. Not just one either. Everyone of the anti-vaxers that has contracted COVID (Delta) has passed.
The numbers below represent one day only at UAB Hospital in Birmingham, AL

I'm 67 and have had my measles and polio shots in grade-school, and have had tetanus and flu-shots sporadically over the past years. I don't by any means take all shots recommended by the doctors as I have declined various flu-shots, tetanus, pneumonia, shingles, and other shots over the years.

As for COVID, I waited 8 months to observe, watch, and wait before my wife & I took our first Moderna shots 2 weeks & 3 weeks ago. (we purposely took the shots a week apart, so one spouse could nurse the others bad reaction to the drug, if need be) Neither of us had any reaction to the first shot, and are not worried should we actually get a reaction to the 2nd shot next week. But I will be sure to let you very cautious, skeptical, anti-all-kinds-of-government type guys out there know if the wife and I start to grow a 6th toe or another head out of our shoulder.

Get well OP! Look at the brighter side.... as you could have possibly been deadly sick without any shot at all.

Wish you well and take care of yourself.
My son was 16 back in December. We rode 4 hrs in the truck to the deer lease stayed in a travel trailer together all weekend, even hunted in the same deer stand for about 4 hours one morning. That afternoon he said he wasn't feeling to good and said it felt like a sinus infection coming on. We hunted that evening and next morning, drove home that day. Both of us went to a clinic on the way home and got a quick test, qtip in the brain test, and antibody test. Both of our quick test were negative and neither of us had any antibodies. A few days later I got a phone call and said his regular (qtip in the brain) test came back positive. He stayed in his room and for about 4 days said his throat was on fire. Other than that it didn't really bother him. I never did get it. I have O+ blood and have heard that that may have something to do with it, but who knows. I got my shots earlier this year as soon as I was eligible. I figured Uncle Sam pumped a bunch of crap in me already, what was one more. And I didn't want to give it to anyone that couldn't handle it if I did happen to get it. There are 4 employees I work with that are over 60. One I really hope he doesn't get it. I can't believe he is still above ground after all that guy has been has been through.
Me and my wife did get the Moderna shot and after the 2nd shot I felt a little ran down after about 24 hrs from when I received it and that lasted about 24 hrs. Then I was fine and haven't had any side effects so far. Knock on wood.
Now the 2nd shot did kick my wife's ass. She was sick for about a week and has had racing hart at times. It never happened before the shot but there isn't a way to prove that it was. I don't know if it was or not. The hart issues have slowed way down the last couple of months.

There is treatments for COVID-19 so I am not getting the shots. My wife and I haa as ve both had it and recovered without the need of hospitalization. As a matter of fact all my family has had it and all recovered without hospitalization with one exception, because he waited two weeks to seek treatment!

I am retired and drive school bus. Felt like dung for the last few days and threw a low-grade temp today. Over to the V.A. I went and had them drill their Q-Tip up into my brain............Still have taste & smell, I had better cook off those marinating NY strips before that goes away. I will be sitting tight for the next few weeks ( quarantining )........Wish I had a back yard range,,,,, ;)

Oh Well......It Is What It Is....:(

Regards
Rick
Take care of yourself and get well. The vaccine's were never advertised as 100% effective, I guess nothing is. Hope you feel better soon.

Wow sorry to hear this. I hope you come out of it okay.

Medicine and politics mixed together. Small wonder there is so much confusion and distrust.

I've listened to my doctors, I guess, my whole life. ( 3/4 of a century) Been a good run so far. All without turning to social media or web sites.

My thought is that they most likely could make a vaccine that would be almost 100% effective but the results would be devastating one way or the other. one case scenario could be really bad side effects so severe that nobody would take it. On the other side it could cause deadly side effects sometime down the road.

I don't really have any knowledge on the matter, but just my own suspicions. In the meantime, I have had two shots with no side effects at all and if advised to get another shot, I will do so.

The worse situation now, other than the measles cases Joe shipped here, is someone who recently had asymptomatic COVID developed full antibodies and than gets vaccinated. Can have severe reactions. Recent studies of individuals who get COVID after vaccinated show Moderna has lowest numbers, but remember people who have been vaccinated are LESS likely to go in to be tested. Also remember if you give up your personal right to decide medical treatments, the left will assume you will relinquish all individual rights( their goal).

No one ever made a decision for me.
As I said I listen to them. Not someone on a computer. (certainly regarding medical advice)
I don’t know anyone that would listen to any one person online, but you can certainly access lots of useful information online that will help make an informed decision and yes that includes medical decisions.
