Goofin Off -- Shooting Pins

I remember shooting bowling pins with pistols way back when. They're surprisingly stable when you're trying to knock them off a table...

They still have pin shoots, it's not a thing of the past.

We had a pin league for a couple years. We had to quit. People were getting hit with ricochets/bounce backs. Too many were using lite loads for the speed aspect (timed event) without enough energy to knock the pins clear or off the table.

We shot them with hanguns also, but starting out at 50 yrds or more. Why is this guy only shooting, as it appears, about 10-15 yrd ? And with the AR just spray and pray and blowing ammo. At the range he should make every shot hit the pin/s.

Shooting NRA B16 target at 25 yards has value in measuring performance and improving skills but shooting pins, cans and plates is a lot more fun. It's supposed to be fun, right?

Brings back memories of going to the dump with a couple boxes of 22 LR and my trusty K22 revolver and shooting tin cans. Wow was that fun. The only thing better was shooting rats at another dump that was invested with the nasty critters.

Friend and I where about 35 yds at a 45 degree angle from the firing line, pins where 15 yards or so in front of the line. A bullet came back and hit under his classes on his orbital bone. Fraction of an inch from entering his eye. Never went on a similar range again.

Wasn't trying to imply that; just that I haven't done it since the 80's.
