that is sad and i know it must have been very difficult for you.UMMMMMMMMM.....I am not sure what to say. I do know this. I watched my father for almost 5 years in a veterans home stair out in space not knowing a thing and was 100% taken care of. What ever I need to do it will happen before I get to that point.
I take youre meaning - have a garage sale - Cash only right -- Mabie instead of a cruise ill go on a road trip out towards IDJeez. Next month will be 30 years with my lovely Christian wife. If I were you I'd clean my house, and go from there...
Thank You for the offer. I may take a road trip West if this virus stuff ever lets up. Im a hermit at this point. I do have my house in order- so to speak-- at least the best i can do. Could sell some guns I guessThat is ONE meaning...
You are welcome to drive out and visit. I have not been out to my prime Rockchuck grounds yet, but it is about time to go check the new crop.
There are legal workarounds, but it's dicey. Be sure you see an attorney BEFORE trying anything like this. Medicare fraud is a thing, and they prosecute.Nursing homes are a scam unless you exhausted all possibility's because if you have any savings or own a home etc including retirement money the nursing home will exhaust it all in a years time. If you own a home put it into a family member's name with rights to occupy it till you cant or that goes away and secondly get a trusted family member or friend who will sit on the money so when you need or want things you can afford it. Ask me how I know.
I know first hand that they will come back and take things you sold in the past 5yrs. Maybe an astute lawyer can chime in on this @Forum BossThere are legal workarounds, but it's dicey. Be sure you see an attorney BEFORE trying anything like this. Medicare fraud is a thing, and they prosecute.
I do think it's rather absurd that nursing homes are cheap if you can't afford them, and $$$ if you can. So they take all your money until you have none, then suddenly they'll take less?
Imagine if everything you bought was priced based on your income or assets...
I've been thru it both ways. Mom had a Will. Her estate still went thru probate. Father in law had a trust. Nothing was touched. All went to his kids. No tax no state involvement. A trust is the only way to go. Can only speak for my home state of Michigan.I know first hand that they will come back and take things you sold in the past 5yrs. Can I come?I've been married to the wrong person for so long I think I would just like a bottle and a good campfire .
In most cases, Medicaid. Better known as taxpayers. So if you do all that who ends up paying for you to be in a nursing home????????
Kind of like an “Obama phone, except a lot more expensive .”In most cases, Medicaid. Better known as taxpayers.
