I am looking at a very nice Targetshooting.com model 1200 rifle rest. It appears to be simular to the sinclair front rest but a lot cleaner looking. Has any one have there have any experience with this rest? I have looke d at the one piece front and back rests but some of the competetions are getting strick on the rules.

Tony, i happened to stumble across this sight last night, and i wanted to reply to this guys comments about the rest your looking at. Iam the seller of this rest . If you take a hard look at it, there is side tension adjustments for your bag. As far as the foot pads go, they are twice the size of anything on the market. the feet pins are hardened , the front stop is not attached to the quick release top so , if you use another top here all you have to do slide the top on and tighten it up. the front stop is not attached to the top, but is attached to the base itself. very easy to remove and replace tops on this rest. If you would go on the target shooters site and watch his videos , you will have a clear explanation how everything works. If you have the time, read the reviews that are posted about the rest and the workmanship that wally does. Feel free to call him and ask any questions you have, he is more than happy to explain anything you need. The fellow is a real gentleman and does nice work. If you check the reviews on his products, you cant find ones negative reply to any of his works, and yes Sinclair makes a nice rest, but their rest is bolted to a sheet of metal and not machined as part of the rest. When he talks about price, your actually paying 525 dollars, the rest goes toward the shipping. If you can find, a better deal on the internet, buy it. Every piece in this rest was made at his plant in South Dakota. Sinclairs parts come from all different suppliers are manufactured by different vendors. No hard feelings with Mr. Smith, he just doesnt know what he is talking about. For as long as he has been on this site, he seems to have an opinion about everything. And knows very little about what he is saying. What we could go on nitpicking all day about different rest, but the facts are, this is a dam good rest and would be a excellent deal for you. I see the rest has been on the market for a while. I have not seen or heard of one until a post here on this site a few weeks ago. The product line is overpriced when comparing extra's like sandbags & rest "feet". It is $50 more than Sinclair's Competition Rest.....which has a pretty good reputation since it was brought out 3 years ago. I don't see a means to adjust side tension on the bags...that's a problem. No mention if the rest feet pins are hardened. No mention if the rear screw is an acme thread ...which is best for fine elevation adjustments.I see the quick-release top as a potential problem, and those disc's with o-rings....not a great idea.....you need lots of surface area of rubber with the right durometer rating. The extra top is listed as $125.....but it doesn't come with the fore-end stop (which is attached to it).....if you have to swap out more parts, then there is nothing quick about it.
You asked, I offered my opinion.
Edit- Some positives ........it appears sturdy , well built (as much as one can tell from pictures) and user friendly with those large knurled knobs, it doesn't change the angle of the front bag when adjusting windage (ala Sinclair Comp. rest) which may alter side tension on bag ears. They should advertise the max. amount of movement @ 100 yds. to allow comparison.
I do have concern, however, regarding the use of UHMV plastic as a part for the windage......I believe hard coated aluminum would be a better choice for this rack.
