Front Rest weight question for F-Class

Alright guys I curious as to why some of the front rests for F-Class are on the heavy side lets say 18lbs (JJ, Greenlaw, Sinclair a beast 30 lbs!). While others are much lighter ( Cowan, Shadetree).

My question I guess is are the heavier models more stable?? Educate me please!

I think it has some to do with what kind of range a person shoots at.

Some ranges have vehicle access, and plenty of parking space, behind every firing line. Or the terrain is fairly level so a large Tipkin cart or even one of the Rugged Gear joggers make getting from one yard line to the next not too much of a burden.

Others are less 'civilized' and hauling a 20+lb rifle, 10-20lb rear bag, 20-30lb front rest, and all the other ancillary crap becomes a real PITA. Or if you have to fly and can't bring your cart with you...
