Front rest for F-class good but reasonable

Still pretty new to the F class game and I'm looking for a reasonably priced front rest! Plain and simple, can't afford a Seb or Farley so on to the others! (unless someone out there has one missing some parts or pieces that can be jerry rigged or duct tapped together) Please give me you thoughts for 600 & 1000yrd shooting, been looking at Bald eagle, any preference in the slingshot vs triangle? cast iron vs alum? Even thought about the Caldwell BR! Would really like to stay under $200-$300 since I'm buying for my son and I, so as always your responces and experience are greatly appreciated!

I suggest you post this in the Classifieds, as a 'WTB' (Want To Buy) ad. And if you're shooting in F-TR, then I also suggest that you start with a Harris bipod, i.e. their BRS-M (6-9", swivel, leg notches) version. As to the Bald Eagle (brand now owned/mfgd. by the same company that owns/runs Grizzly -- as in lathes), it's certainly not a bad place to start, and you might have a Google search for 'Joe Cowan rest, Altoona PA' too.

Good luck.

The bald eagle sling shot. Get the cast one and three inch disk feet and go have fun.
It's a good entry level rest for someone just getting into it.

Shoot me a PM. I'll help you out.

What about the Seb mini? I think it runs around 600.00
Vahena, that is a nice looking rest as well, problem is it's just a little out of my range! I think I just need to work my way up! Just got done putting together an economical build so my boy and I can stop shooting the same gun!

I have a Bald Eagle BE 1006 Sling Shot Cast Iron Rest.
I don't want to sell it, I'm shooting a Zeb now.

You can buy a new one for $200.00

For the price they will be hard to beat.

Just went back and reread your post, sorry about the seb mini at 600.00 but how about a bipod? if not the cast iron BE is the way to go at that point.
I have one of the original BE from Pa. I started out with this rest and later went with a SEB, but I have had many offer on my BE but i would not sell it.
BE rest are a good buy and you can modify them to be a better rest.

I started with a Bald Eagle aluminum tripod and it worked fine with the large spiked feet. Then I got one of Butch Lamberts Shade Tree joy stick tops to go on it and now I am completely satisfied and will never need anything else.

I have a nice Bald Eagle, Cast Iron Slingshot, with remote adjustments, a level, improved fore end stop, and a Modified Tray. I would throw in a 3``SEB bag and a 3`` Bald Eagle bag (they are $100). These rests retailed for $475, but bullets.com is blowing them out for $200, without any bags. Id sell it (Tray, bags and all) for $175 + actual shipping, if anyone is interested. My SEB came in!
