I would like to announce the formation of a new shooting organization called Freedom Benchrest. The purpose of this organization is the promotion of Long Range Benchrest exclusively. Our goal is a nationwide organization where the rules and direction of the Organization is determined by the Range Owners or their representatives. I cannot stress enough, the position of our Board of Directors is to manage and responsibly report to all legal authorities, to manage and present a website for our existing and potential new members, to record and present the history of Long Range Benchrest, to help and promote Long Range Benchrest in its entirety. Let me say again, the rules and operation of our matches will be decided by the majority vote of the Range Representatives.
We hope to offer a common sense approach to Long Range Benchrest and not a reproduction of existing standards and norms. We offer a relaxed set of rules with a priority towards ease of operation for Range Owners. We believe this will assist in the advancement of technology and performance of equipment and techniques that we use and value. We value the exchange of knowledge, theories and thoughts, while enjoying the friendship of a competitor.
We do not wish to replace any existing organizations. We simply want to give the ranges and shooters another way to look at Long Range Benchrest.
Another of our goals is to provide these services at zero cost to our members, no match fees, no club fees. At first we will be privately funded and then through advertising and sponsorship we hope to have enough revenue that we will not need to ask for additional funds.
