Frankford Universal Bullet Seater?

RCBS already done this,... sort of. I use the original RCBS competition seater and when I change to another caliber I can buy the guide and seater plug and convert the die to another caliber. This setup looks a lot like that design with the bullet drop window.

How about runout on loaded rounds?
And the more important question, does run out matter?
For my application I have done the statistically significant testing and it does not matter.
If I have a choice between straight ammo and crooked ammo, I will take the straight ammo.
But for my application I know from my testing that it does not matter.
I have posted on my testing and results here several times so if you are interested in the test description and the results you should be able to find it with a search.

Runout may or may not matter, but controlling runout usually happens during sizing, not seating.

This looks a lot like the Vickerman dies I seat with, but I do have one question for owners of this one. Watched a video of it on YouTube and looked like the bullet was dropped in window. How is this possible. If I drop a bullet in the Vickerman window without bringing the case up it drops straight through. What keeps the bullet from dropping through until case is raised into position. Been thinking about buying one for the calibers I don't load often.
Thanks in advance
Doug

My question is do these dies yield consistent base to ogive measurements.

My experience has been that a seater die, as long as it is straight, will do the job. All the magic happens during sizing. Base to ogive variations seem to be caused by how consistently the brass work hardens
and springs back.

So I guess my question would be about the quality of these new seater dies.

If they are like the RCBS Matchmaster die I use, there is a spring retainer in the guide that keeps the bullet from falling through. Very handy to use and this looks to be a reasonably priced way to handle multiple calibers.

I have never used the die in question, but have used 2 different seater (RCBS Comp--Hornady) dies that use a bullet collar to line up the bullet and case. My findings are these dies give no better run-out #'s than standard dies and not as good a #'s as the Lee dead length bullet seater. I have found that a die (Forster---Redding) with a caliber chamber give me the best run-out #'s, but as @INTJ pointed out a lot happens during the sizing that relates to good run-out #'s in the end.
