I guess every internet forum is going to have something you don't like. Or not have something you do like.

But whenever I have a question relating to rifle accuracy or reloading tech , this is the number one forum I go to. By far. I don't know that it's worth the effort to go anywhere else.

Eta: and I think the handgun forum is a nice addition.

Joined here coming up on 4 years now. Coming from the USPSA/SCSA side after many years I liken this group to the Brian Enos forums for those disciplines. A ton of great information from helpful people who have been there/done that and don’t mind sharing. Almost all of my Rimfire & SRBR equipment has been obtained from this group as well as the knowledge to get started. I’ve seen a few posts along the way that needed to be “moderated” but for the most part it remains one of the best I visit with ego’s in check.. Thanks AS! For any newbs joining, enjoy what this group is and don’t try to turn it into what others are!!

I personally know many world class shooters who still shoot today and place very high or even win that don't often participate in certain threads! Their comments to me have been that they don't want to enter a peeing contest. However, with a little time, some of the valuable information will come to the surface. With that said, I've gleaned much needed info through the years.

I guess you could say I'm one of the old timers I think I joined a month or two after inception so have seen it all on here.
If you don't know about something or have a problem guaranteed there is someone here that can and will most likely give some advice or help you with your problem.
With that being said there are others that are just looking for likes and attention who don't have the expierience to really comment on the subject.
If you want to know who the guys are that really know, look for the ones that have been around the longest and respond the least.
Hate to break it to you but it was more like two years or more after because my join date is 2005.
Longevity allows one to know who's information to trust and who to discard. In 2005 the term influencer was not a thing on the internet. Today we must realize the influencers are everywhere, even on this and other forums. Other than those, we have such a broad spectrum of individuals here. Some, judging by their detailed engineering and/or physics oriented posts, are in our midst for the science. Many are here for the shear competition. Then, like me, there are people here who just enjoy the freedom of being able to get behind a rifle or practice handgun skills and challenge my personal growth of 50 years of shooting and reloading.
One thing that is sometimes very difficult to remember in conversing here is that the things that work for me (or not) may be the opposite experience for you. If I haven't at least listened to you then I have learned nothing.

When I first started on the internet real names were an invitation to be trolled. The guy that set up my first computer asked what name I wanted to use. I choose ebb from the Green Acres show because I was as clueless about rifles as Ebb was about farming. If I am confused about something Dave Tooley goes out of his way to help. It just don't get any better than that! Thanks Dave and I still want to hear your thoughts about primer setting depth.
