Forum Rules Concerning Classified Ads

I know we are not supposed to enter in to discussions in the classifieds, but there should be a way to warn fellow shooters when it comes to a person selling something at a premium price that is cheap crap.

Scan the recent ads in the Rifle classifieds and you will see an obvious example.

I am not sure we are thinking of the same thing but I did see something in the optics page that looked questionable, I tried to make a call to confirm it’s Authenticity but was to late to get anyone today. Either way I agree with what you are saying.

It's up to the potential buyer to decide and if required to do the research on an items value.
Those classifieds get off track enough without allowing people who aren't even interested in the item to opine on it's value.
The rule you want to change is there to prevent the very thing you want to do IMO

I feel this has merit and needs attention. However, how do you verify such an objective view. I had a personal situation where a poster (ckaberna) discredited me and indirectly told others not to trust me. Apparently, in his opinion I was trying to cheat someone.

My point being: how do you know fact from fiction?

I don't have any inside info about the aforementioned dust up. I do know from personal experience that jjhall91 is a great person to do business with. Jack responded to a WTB classified ad I posted awhile back. We exchanged info and I sent a personal check to Jack. Jack called me to let me know that he had received the check and proceeded to ship the item without waiting for my check to clear. We talked quite awhile on the phone. I gave Jack positive trader feedback. IME I would vouch for Jack as an honest person to buy/sell items with.
