Please know, that is NOT a defense of "Larry". If you noticed, I was going back & forth with him, myself. Knew it was only a matter of time before admin would step in. They always do with "Larry", its been that way for as long as he's unleashed he!! on internet shooting sites, since...forever. Point it, by 'assuming' anything about him, you've played right into his hand...

That said, "Larry's" 'credentials' certainly DO NOT justify espousing dominance over other members.

But, in truth, some (high post count) members here like to 'throw their weight around', as if they're opinion automatically defaults to a level above another's. Just sayin', the 'gangster' phenomenon you described occurs in various forms, depending on how you look at things. Whether its "Larry's" unique 'rope-a dope' tactics, another's passive-aggressive postings, or somewhere in between.

Posting a 'blanket statement' doesn't do anyone any service.
Just ignore it. Or, hit the 'report'button, and let admin sort it out.

You're still welcomed to head out my way, some time in the future! I know snert moved several hours closer your way, and he's a heckuva good fella. Also, he can vouch that I'm the same @$$hole in person as I am on here :)

Thank you Fredo. Appreciate the open offer and I definitely will make it your way eventually. My comments didn't really finger one individual regarding "zero experience in the shooting game". It was generalizing that some people here that DO degrade or bash guys for there preference in gear may not have near the experience that those their insulting DO have. Again, I mentioned no names in this posting other than the title. I may have been off base to some and on target to others but to me what was certain was I was tired of these posts bashing and disrespecting good guys just trying to educate others. Like i said earlier, I may have been like a spike horn coming to a bait pile, maybe an easy target and maybe he got what he wanted by pulling me in but then again, so did this forum. He was removed and that was what counts. There was no intent on my part to pull anybody into this category that does not belong here. Those that do fit this description, know who they are.

Yeah....no. Apply for a job they google your name and pull up every half-thought forum post you ever made? What you put on the internet under your name can never be deleted and follows you forever. I'm not at all ashamed of my love of guns and shooting, but that doesn't mean I want my boss and co-workers seeing it on the internet and circulating it in the office. I keep work and personal life separate. I assume anything I put on the internet that can be identified to me may make it back to the office.

Then there is the risk that some fruitcake will take offense and show up on your doorstep.

But I do agree with you, people hide behind the anonymity and use it to do things they'd normally not do.

I was at my cabin for a while...off grid...so I missed all this "excitement", but I did see a huge black bear.

You know, I pushed for just that for a lot of years. A REAL gun room. Kinda glad I didn't get one. The problem with that is that my wifey can count. If they're all lined up in a row, it would be all too easy for her to see that I went against her edict of "no more guns!";) As it is now, with them all squirreled away, sometimes I find one I forgot I bought.:eek: I shoulda married the bimbo.

That may very well be....but I can't for the life of me ever remember meeting any "serious, stern fellows" that pondered whether or not a "porcupine shot with enough V-max would shoot arrows everywhere"........

Well sometimes those Porcupine needles get caught in my ass and throat with the so called Shooter that wins everything but the match and are self proclaimed know it all's that Bitch about a custom Reamer, Barrel or Rifle part slipping out to a long lead time . They started calling those folks the McDonald's Crowd on the Sites lately . Then there's the Gunsmith that builds three rifles a year part time that if the customer pulled it apart it would scare the shit out of him right down to the knurled threads he hid because he turned them under size and thinks he coverd it up as he gives information on the Web about the proper way to Gunsmith. He knows everything about gunsmiths but doesn't have the common sense God gave a Bird but he will ridicule or weigh in on everybody's problems or fixes to differ . This same fellow will start threads about the best Barrel or the best Action . Hell one fellow bitched about our Reamers then Said on this site in progression within 4 mounts Dave was best then Hugh was the best then Clymer was the Bomb and two weeks later he tries to purchase a Reamer from us . I told him to go f^@k himself . Some people bitch for a stress relief some for ego and some to try to hurt a company because they will call the company every day to just talk to the owner or bitch about the price of Tea in China and no one will listen to there voice day in day out because the fellow is plane stupid and you remember he was the guy that took all your time at the last show bragging about himself with breath like a Japaneses Laundry spewing in your face . So hears what I do, The best I can . For those people that bother you and bitch on this Forum or plain annoy you, Well new members just laugh think back to the Bad Breath he has while he is typing his spew on the dirty keyboard and move on to a new Thread , my .02 cents Thanks Dave Kiff

So if we put said porky suspended in a bubble of ballistic gel, hit him with said 460 Hornet Lott Improved at 100 yards (don't want to be too close), film with one of those high speed video cams, then measure dispersion and penetration of said quills, would that be enough proof, or should we simply take our phones and deer rifles into the woods and see what we see?

I am thinking a serius engineer type should chime in. we need a math guy too. And I will pull the trigger.

Geez I hope he doesn't mean me! I never had a reamer made (forged my own 460 Hornet lott improved) but I have complained to soothe my ego and my breath, well....geez, maybe he did mean me! Sorry Dave!
