Fixing a front adjustable iris?

My 30mm adjustable front iris gave up the ghost during a match this season. Halfway through a string it sprung to its maximum setting and no longer adjusts. Is there anyone in the US that can repair these?

Contact Scott Riles at Riles Machine in California. He might not be able to fix what you have but he'll probably have a replacement.

If the multi-fingered portion of the iris came out of the ring that moves back and forth to open and close the iris, you might be able to use loctite gear retaining compound to secure the iris into the moving bar -i did one a few years ago and it is still working.

Sorry, I don't know the correct terminology for the iris parts, so this may be hard to understand. Take a good look at the iris and it will probably be clear what I am talking about.

I did the repair because I only had the one iris at the time and it was just before a match, so...

Hope this helps,

Frank

You nailed it! The adhesive holding it in place came loose. A little red loctite has it back up and running. Thanks you!

Is this a Gehmann?
I think so, I bought it used and it has no name on it.
