First Look at the Ingenuity Precision Powder System

I think he's updating it to add the Sartorius shield but to answer your disk question, I can't guarantee it but he's said it will probably come with 7545, 508, 567 which are the same three the stand alone trickler unit comes with. Here's a chart https://ingenuityprecision.com/instructions/
Thanks, yeah I believe it said when I did the order but noticed later that the page and my e-mail didn't say so was wondering which three. I'll pop him an e-mail asking him to add that info to the page.

I'll need a 705 too, just want to assure I order those with enough lead time in case there's a run on em when these units start shipping out.

update: yeah he said same three as before 7545, 508, 567

Calm down, it’s not that serious man.
There is merit in this unit being priced competitively against the V4, but right now it’s priced approximately double a V4. I think at around $700-$800 it would be competitive with it and pull newer people over when they are in the market. However I don’t believe it will do that at the current price point. Not one part of my post was to “dissuade”.
Hmmm.
You made ZERO positive remarks and complained about the price (like you clearly can't afford one) and you're trying to say "No one part of my post was to 'Dissuade".
Clearly EVERY part of your post was to dissuade.

Call me crazy, but I think you can love the machine and not love the price

I think you can love the machine, but say it doesn’t do a whole lot more than a V3 and an IP trickLer

I think you can love the machine and think it’s BS to pay $95 for a printed windshield

I have had the V3, V4, and the ST searching for “fast and accurate”. I was unhappy with them all, with the ST being absolutely unbearable. I sold them all.

The best “fast and accurate” thus far in my experience is a combo of the V3 and the IP trickler. So if this new complete set up is better than that, take my money now! Cant wait to try it!

^this

And until then I’ll be dropping the first 134 grains of H50BMG from a 30-year-old Uniflow, and trickling in the last 0.5 grains by hand

Which I can do faster than about anything on planet Earth. It’s just extremely tedious and annoying

I kinda wish he would have went with the clear molded one seen in some of his videos (see screenshot below) but presume there was a reason not to. I'm fairly sure the molded one would be far less costly to produce and order en mass vs 3D printed. Anyhow the case doesn't matter, how the unit performs does and I'm impressed with what I've seen so far.

You read entirely too deep into it. Have a good day dude. Lol

Bingo, yahtzee!

I pre ordered a couple days ago. Figured better get in line and gives me some time to consider everything. I really like what I’ve seen. Simple, fast and appears to just work. I was hoping for cheaper but that’s not the world we live in. It’s about 500 more than a v4 setup. So not double from what I can tell? IP with fx scale and shield was 1700 I think and v4 with fx is 1200? Rough #’s. That 500 would help buy other cool tools but I really like how simple everything seems to be on the IP which has lead me to open my wallet. I wish it wasn’t an extra 100 for the shield. I was a little confused on this part, is it not needed? I was assuming it is, so why not include it in the package? Bear with me here. I’m a little stupid when it comes to some of this stuff. And sure I wish it was more online price wise with the v4 etc but I like that it appears to be super easy to run, change powder and will have good support. I’m a guy who has a lot of irons in the fire and don’t want to be fiddling with stuff. That’s why I’ve been running my 3 chargemaster lites for so long and dealing with the slowness and not so accurate drops. This is the first one that I feel will fit what I want. I hope…. I think that’s where he got me and the fact that the extra 500 is really just a fraction of what I spend on this hobby… I have a safe full of customs, lots of reloading components, tons of gear and so on. Probably why this will be popular. As much as we want cheaper, it’s not enough to stop us from hitting the checkout button. In the end I work hard for my $ and its doesn’t grow on trees around here. I think I finally found something that was worth spending it on. I’m excited.

The A&D is the only scale where you don't need his draft shield. The A&D comes with a strong enough system already to support the scale. The Creedmoor draft is weak because it doesn't hold together under movement of any kind and the Sartorius needs all the glass and posts removed to accommodate it so in both those cases you need his draft shield.

Yeah I have an A&D and I still ordered the draft shield. I figured it was strong enough but I didn't want to risk needing to modify the top for this unit. However mostly getting it because I wanted a solid one piece unit and if I ever go to sell my scale the FX120i shield will still be like new. Besides, the IP draft shield comes with a light. That's gotta make it worthwhile right? hehe

Why doe's the inability or the lack of desire to spend unrealistic sums of money on an untried product become a flaw? I still have a ST, and love it. Does it take some tweaking in it's current configuration? YES. Will it get better with time and software upgrades? Most assuredly, as long as the company continues to evolve. And it certainly appears at this point that it will. Are there more advantages coming on line in the future for this product? YES, If you believe the inventors.
Is the ingenuity that much better than a V4, or an ST today. I have not personally used it, so I can't say. But it is also untested by the greater market.
Go with the new product flow, use a good old fashioned beam scale, they all produce quality ammo if you spend the time. It you don't learn the process, all of them will fail to give you the results you want.
Your money, your time, your results. Don't expect a powder dropping system to have you winning matches.

I got ya. Thanks for that. Makes sense now. I ordered it as I wasn’t sure. Oh well. Maybe it will be better.

I put a pre-order in for one. It had become glaringly apparent to me that I needed to upgrade my current system, as it is unbearingly tedious to try to get loads within .02grs. I just don't have that kind of patience. Looked at the V4 setup and just couldn't bring myself to being tied to using my phone with it. I don't even have a iPhone lol. I'm just fortunate that I didn't spend my money on another system only to have this one show up a short time later. I've already spent 11K on new rifles for next year, what's 1 more.

Does anyone have any idea what the numbers on the discs mean? I realize it is used to identify them, but they must have some significance? Otherwise why not name them A, B, C, etc. that is easier for the end users to remember? Instead they are 508, 567, 705? Has to mean something right?

I believe the clear one is the one he is selling, I think the white one in FCLASSJohns video was just a made for testing the unit during development.
I think the clear one was too expensive, so he switched to the 3d printed white one, but we dont really know. Lots of details still missing.

Injection molded plastic would be orders of magnitude cheaper than either,, even retail would be less than $10 whereas just the piece of plexiglass is $10-20 retail but I would think there's places that once they have the mold could pump out acrylic plexiglass to spec for far less cost than 3D printed and of course many at a time whereas 3D printing is pretty slow per unit. The value in 3D printing is being able to do stuff that can't be done with either of the other two and using all sorts of other materials. Parts don't get much more basic than something like this one piece draft shield.

I agree with you, but the details are scarce with this system....

I just deleted my post, I just saw the photo on the website has been updated with the one you are talking about.
