Hi guys
I decided to try install my first barrel,(Krieger 30 BR) but I have a lot of doubts. I fixed the chamber end in the tailstock and the crown end in the 4 jaws chuck. I dialed with range rods, after almost 3 hours I got almost done the centering work., who show .0005" runout. After removing the range rod, and spinning the barrel, seems that the barrel hole have a lot of runout, so I decided to put the range rod again and check. Dialing next to the muzzle, the barrel show a lot of runout (0.015"). But if a measure in the tip of the range rod, the runout is very low. So, where is the right place to adjust the barrel? Dialing next the muzzle or in the range rod tip?
A lot to learn, but i love these things...
Excuse my bad english, outside USA guy...
