One thing I highly recommend. A lot of these fire starting options that you can buy today are gimmicks that don't really work in real life conditions. When you do decide on method and materials, then go try it out. Make sure that it works as expected, many require tricks to make them work right and many may not work at all. Most importantly, when it comes down to life or death, you know how to use it.
I have purchased many different survival items over the years. Too many end up in the trash can. I carry an emergency pack in both cars and one on the boat.
