FINALLY!!!

Well after nearly 4 years shooting F-Class (F-Open) I FINALLY got my first clean at 1000 yards! I shot a 200-13X! What was even more surprising was that I did it on a barrel that was still in "speed up" stage. My first match I dropped 2 points as the bullets would climb and strike just outside the 10 ring at 12 O'Clock. I was continually "clicking" down. On the second relay it was doing the same thing, but to a lesser degree. They would go high in the 10 ring, but not into the 9 ring. I was still clicking down. Then on shot 10 it quit climbing and I shot an X on shot ten and from shot 11 til the end, I shot 9 more>>>>8 in a row and I hit the 10 at shot 19 and an X on shot 20! This is HUGE for me as I am not the the best 1000 yard shot! I am so elated I thought I would let "our family" here know!

Now that you have a clean 1000 yard target under your belt time to start working on a national title.

Good job! And congrats

No mirage on the first 2 matches Mike! Thanks for your kind words too! We had HEAVY cloud cover. I dropped 4 points on the last match. 3 of those points WERE Mirage causing my bullets to go up! It never dawned on me til the 3rd one blowing up in the 9 ring what it was! I blew 1 wind call on the last relay and went in the 9 by about 1/2 inch, on the waterline at 9 O'Clock.

Ben, I need that barrel back!!! Lol

Nice shooting, seems like the Brux is treating you well. :)

Once it settled down, it became a hammer! I was running those X's like it was at 600 yards! The barrel is a shooter! Thanks for letting me have it when you did! T-Rust me, I appreciate it! As you know, my other barrel just went south in a BIG HURRY! I need to thank Omar too for his VERY quick turn-around. He knew we were coming up on the TSRA Tournament, and went the extra mile to get it done quickly for me!

Good shooting Ben, congrats!

Thanks Jade! Let's hope it continues to hold this coming weekend!

My first clean ever was during a TSRA LR Championship. Looks like your timing is off and shot it a week early! Lol

Well Erik, if I am going to be competitive, I will need at least 2 more, probably 3 betwixt Sat and Sun!

Ben, this is just the same thing as the 4 min mile in running . NOW you KNOW you can do it so it has no obstacle but yourself to do it again and again. And you will I'm totally confident in that. Can't wait to see what you do next !! Your having a good year so far Ben!

Thanks Mike! I have no idea what is next up for me. However, there are 2 things I want to accomplish this year. 1.) I want to win "our" (as in Bayou Rifles) either Mid-Range OR Long-Range Club Championship; and 2.) I WILL WIN the Palo Alto State Championship in October. Anything above and beyond that is just ice cream!

Congratulations , that is quite an achievment. What caliber were you shooting.? Sorry, don't know if there is a caliber restriction. ::)
