FINALLY!!!

Great shooting. Must feel good to get that one.

Still chasing the 1000 yard clean here in FTR. I have joined the 199 club, I dropped mine on the 4th shot.

If you can do 199, you CAN do 200! It is not a matter of "IF" anymore, it is now a matter of WHEN!

My first "clean" was the hardest. It was a 200-10X and it was all great until I realized that I was on shot 17 and still clean. The next 3 shots my 1 oz. trigger felt like a 10 lb. trigger! I had to talk to myself to calm down and execute the shots properly. When the last shot came up a 10 I was very relieved.

New goals are to shoot a National record and to shoot a 600 at 1,000 yards. Hopefully I'll do both on the same day! :)

Erik, the first time I came to Bayou, it was to watch Van Vick shoot. He had been on me for awhile to get into F-Class. Well, I showed up and it so happened I was watching Van and you. I am not sure if you were on the same target or not. But I saw you shoot extremely well. I asked you what you were shooting and you told me a .284 Shehane. That was nearly 4 years ago now. I have NO DOUBT, given the right day with the right conditions, you WILL get your 600! I am still waiting for that at 600 yards. I have had "more than a few" 599's but always seem to drop one when I KNOW I should not have. Worry not my friend, it is on it's way!

Just make sure you shoot the national record when it's a registered match and not an approved match... Or practice match :P oh or a registered that is changed to approved...

Naan... But it could happen.

Maybe tied one...

If I am not mistaken, you shot a 600-16X at 600 in F-T/R! That would have tied a National record! I know you are a man of modest character, so I will toot your horn for you! Getting a 200 with 16X's in F-T/R, at 600 yards, is NO SMALL ACCOMPLISHMENT! I really wish it would have been a registered match!

Congrats Ben!! You're on fire!!! Look forward to seeing you again at Palo for the state match! 8)

Thank You very much! I am coming with my .260A.I. which may be my best shooting rifle! AND it shoots a VERY HIGH B.C. bullet that, IF I do my part, it WILL do what it is designed for! I fully intend to come back with THE GOLD! I know I will have my work cut out for me and if I even stub my toe a bit, I will be on the downside of y'all! Every shooter out there is TOP NOTCH and even coming close is something to be proud of!

Congrats Ben. With the TRSA coming up and now your shooting cleans, I guess I should have told you to "keep trying" with that old barrel... ;)

Thanks Mark! I appreciate it! However, somehow I don't believe you will be "sweating bullets" because I happen to be on the line! LOL!! BUT I will give it my very best shot! I think that if I can come in the TOP 5 I will have had a successful weekend! And I will have to be on my "A" game to get that far! There are some excellent shooters that will be vying for that top spot!

200 16X is a GREAT string in FTR at 600, congrats Johnny!!!!!! ;) :).....I watched Alton Britt shoot a 200-17X in FTR at Palo Alto in a monthly match and we all thought it was the new National record but it didn't count for the record......Later on at another monthly match, CJ (Alton's son) Britt shot a 200-17X as well in FTR.
