FINALLY!!!

Great shooting, Ben.
You will be a force to be reckoned with at Palo.
Look forward to seeing you.

Great shooting Ben!! I knew you could do it! It's nice that after all the work and practice you have put into this sport you have accomplished your goals! Keep up the hard work!

Vince

Ben, it looks like you are Pumped Up, Psyched Up and Tuned Up for the TSRA Long Range Championship Match this coming weekend. Good Luck!!!

GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Congrats as well. Always a good feeling to get over a hump/goal we set for ourselves.

Alex

Thanks Everyone for all the kind words and encouragement! It was a goal I sought after now for quite some time! Oh and Donovan, with the load I developed in that rifle, when I shot it, I THOUGHT I had reached the 300 yard goal.. But I was only in the mid-.500's.. It looked real good from 300 yards away>>>but I still have a ways to go to get in the .300's at 300! One day that will come too!! LOL!! Thanks again all!

What bullet did you use Ben?

The 180 Berger Hybrids. All sorted, pointed etc..etc... My load was 56.5gr of H4831with the bullets seated 25K off the lands.. Speed is 2890 with 6ft. E.S.'s IF my P.A.C.T. Pro is correct>>> but with that pile of maggot excrement, you never know for sure..

AND what rifle and action do you shoot with? Just curious. Thx!

Alex

Hey Alex, it is a B.A.T. Model "M" RBRP, a Brux finished 30" 1-9 and a McMillan "Tooley MBR" stock... All work done by Omar Alonzo. It sure is nice to have a 'smith who lives 15minutes away!

That's a beautiful rig Ben. And it IS definitely handy to have your Gunsmith that close. Mine is like 50 minutes away and I'm quite pleased with that. Keep up the good shooting and thx for the info.

Alex

Great shooting Ben! A big congratulations.

I am still on hold. A few 198's & one 199 10x to 12x, but no cleans at 1000. My goal for 2015 for sure.

Keep it up.

Like I always thought Steve, if you can get 198's and 199's>>>the 200 is only a matter of time. You WILL get it!

Talk about getting a first clean in style... 13X! Nice. So close to the record books. Congratulations.

It never dawned on me JRM about the 13X count.. I was desperately trying just to get that clean! When I got to my last shot, I said to myself, "the conditions are the same, hold to the same point on the target and it WILL come up a clean".. I pulled the trigger and VOILA another "X"! But conditions were perfect for a good score. A light STEADY breeze, heavy cloud cover with no heat waves! Then it sunk in, I was only 2 off the National Record! However, it would have only been a "feel good" deal if I had tied>>>> we were just trying to get 3 matches in with the threat of rain upon us, so we only had 2 relays>>>an "approved match" so I could not have got to the record books anyhow>>but 13 was still pretty dang good for me!

On shot number 20 I would have been sweating, my eye would start pulsating, mirage would miraculously appear, I would have flinched, got a scope cut, and shot a 7. :)

I know the feeling, shot two 199s in FTR at 1000 but that elusive 200 is hard to get.......I dropped a 9 on my 19th shot at the Berger Nationals in February on one of my strings, so close but yet so far........ ::) ;D........I really felt for Phil Kelly on that same string, he dropped a 9 on his 1st shot for record then cleaned it out with 14 Xs (FTR)........ :o :)........Woulda been a new National record in FTR.

Great shooting. Must feel good to get that one.

Still chasing the 1000 yard clean here in FTR. I have joined the 199 club, I dropped mine on the 4th shot.
