Finally tried a few match grades in the KIDD

I just shot a few groups with my KIDD build, still lack a kidd trigger group and kidd bolt though.

Tried RWS special match, and Eley match. Shot at 75 yards. The RWS isnt horrible, its much better than bulk ammo and fairly close to eley match.

The RWS and eley both shot the same size group, but the RWS non touched in the group. The Eley match cut holes on other shots, shot a few more in the group than i did in the RWS group..

Yes Eley match shot better consistantly. Makes me curious if other eley ammo would shoot better or about the same...?

I shot with a dead air mask hd suppressor on. The two match grade ammos are interesting as they are not loud at all, almost subsonic, but not quite... compared to cci standard velocity, other bulk ammo from every brand its much more velocity and much louder than the match grade with a suppressor...

Makes me wonder if match grade ammo has less powder than bulk ammo.. or if the lube on a match 22 round plays a factor..

My Kidd Supergrade, likes CCI SV. It will shoot Eley Target and Club as good as Eley Match or Tenex. But it loves Lapua Center X. Try some Wolf MT and ME, SK Std+ and SK Match very good ammo for the money.

Well that seems to be what i figured out. Kind of weird... id think subsonic would be less accurate.. like all other rifles

Just like high power bullets going transonic, 22lr can also become unstable. Keeping them subsonic to start eliminates that accuracy problem.

All 4 of my Kidd 20" barrels like SK Pistol Match and CCI sv. SK Pistol Match is the best I have found so far.

I tell you what guys. These Kidd barrels for $205 shipped to your door are a steal. I have 3 GM barrels. They shoot dang good. But I shoot my Kidd barrels mostly when I want to make tiny holes. My Douglas barrel shoots even better.

This was my Douglas barrel gun Joe Chacon did for me. This was a group it shot the very first day shooting it. That barrel shoots group after group into tiny holes.

It shoots SK Pistol Match well, too. Those were back to back groups.

as you suggested i tried the sk rounds.
Have a full kidd 10/22 with 18" barrel
Did a test at 125yards, maybe a bit far for 22lr.. ( have a funky range..)

For me the "SK Pistol Match Spezial " had the best result.
Probably because of the extra velocity at that range.

10 shots in 34mm
Excluding the 2 "flyers" it was 8 shots in 19mm. Blaming the wind, shooter is always perfect

There is Eley Match and there is Eley Match. They are manufactured in different speeds. The lowest I recall is 1036 fps and the fastest I have seen is 1078 fps. There may be a bigger spread. From what I have seen Lapua Midas + and RWS 50 and/or 100 are at supposedly constant speed. To find your best speed (and then Lot #) with Eley, one has a lot of shooting and analysis ahead of one's self.

SK Pistol Match 1050fps 320m/s
SK Pistol Match Special 1131fps 345m/s

out of 26" 66cm barrels though
