Figured I share this, perfect Labradar base.

Working in commercial photography and video I come across all different equipment. When I got this, I realized it is the perfect base for a lab radar. Works on friction, no ball head needed, works on any terrain and folds up tiny, so it’s perfect for prone or the bench

I’m posting this because there are on sale at BHphoto at a good price.

I like the concept but what about vibration ? I have been considering trying another Labradar and trying to come up with a base design that would be easy to carry and setup and also minimize vibration from wind etc

The website says load capacity is 15lbs. It’s made to hold very expensive camera equipment if that helps

I just posted a write-up on this Edelkrone StandONE base for LabRadars in our Daily Bulletin. Hat's off (and thanks) to X-47B for providing the photos and product report.

$120 for that little thing? No way. Not impressed. I’ll stick with my compact carbon fiber tripod. 1/3 of the price, wider stance for more stability, and a lot more versatile because you can set the radar up high for handgun shooting.

Yeah I bolted mine to a scrap piece of 4x6 wood. Cost was 0– Its heavy enough the lab radar never tips over like i see happening with these tripods people have. Nobody has laughed so far and i dont care if they do.

Yeah there’s so many ways to skin a cat and they all work well. $120 for a small limited use item like the stand mentioned here seems a little crazy to me. No issues with my compact CF tripod. Very lightweight and solid. In my photo above the tripod is keeping the radar steady in the blast of a rearward ported muzzle brake on a 300 NMI using 92.9gr of N570. It’s quite the muzzle blast! It has blown the battery door cover off multiple times so I have the door taped shut now, but the radar stays perfectly on target all day long for every shot.
