You still received in it one day (23 hours) as i read it. Looks like a tour to Oklahoma was involved, but still.....

The Tulsa entry is probably a bar code mis-read or some other corruption in the data stream on its way to the event tracking D/B.
Just a stupid guess from a geek.

last wk I was expecting a package in the mail (USPS) and was tracking it on line,,,as the days went by it got closer and closer,,doing just fine,,,the tracking site said it would get here on tue....so on tue morning it changed and said delayed till wed. ,,,so I got ready to leave and not wait on the mail since it was not going to arrive on tue,,,,I get in the car and start out the driveway ,past the mailbox ,,and THERE WAS THE PACKAGE...so I take it in the house and open it and things are just what I ordered and in great shape,,,I go on line and check tracking agin,,,and it says delivery is still set for tomorrow and I have the package in my grubby little hands..!!!! go figer,,,,Roger

Here, in north central Maryland, if I mail a letter to someone in a town, in my county, that is 20 Mi. away from my PO, the mail first goes to Baltimore (40 miles away) and then back to my county for delivery. I wonder why they are going bankrupt.

If I mail a letter or package form Zip code 24588, Rustburg VA to 24504, Lynchburg VA all of 6 miles away it goes to Greensboro NC about 100 miles away to be sorted and then back to Lynchburg. The same thing happens to a letter that I mail so someone who lives in Rustburg which is a wide spot in the road.

This is modern day government efficiency at its best!

I remember in the early 50's when my great aunt was postmistress in Montgomery WV and she kept a government issue SAA on her desk in case they had any problems with robbers. She was unafraid of anything, was a nurse in France during WWI. That seemed to be a pretty efficient way to deal with robbers even in the mind of a 7 year old but be damned if I can understand present day "government efficiency".

Time to quite rambling and go reload!

hey!

They will pay your insurance after 2wks on Express Mail. One of the Many Reasons it is Worth The Money...
No months of downtime waiting...

Maybe they will refund your postage also? Sorry to hear of your troubles... Express Mail is most prompt insurance settlement there is...

Are you kidding me??????????

I could have walked there and back.......

I don`t think there is a good shipper in the whole lot of them.....

This was my first time I had this.......I sent 2 packages to Rifle CO. this past spring from southern Indiana. 1 was scanned locally, followed it straight there no problem. The second was never scanned locally but was scanned on it's second stop in Missouri. Then never showed for a few days but then showed in Denver....on it's way back to Missouri and then to Iowa and never showed for 4 days until it was scanned in Rifle. USPS had almost no data on the package other than when it would show somewhere. Needless to say the finished product is back in my hands.

Edit..............

My situation was`t with USPS, but another carrier...........Fed Ex.

Phil.

I have no trouble with USPS and they delivered on time. For you that are not familiar with our part of the country, Millsap is about 15 miles west of Weatherford, Texas. They're is no airport used by the USPS any closer than DFW airport. Approx 45 miles minimum and through Ft. Worth. Now from DFW Airport to Tulsa is 270 miles. It was shipped to Millsap and then went to Tulsa in 34 minutes and then back Dallas Ft Worth and then to Millsap in 1.5 hrs.
The tracking is a joke, but they got it there.

I've been having a lot of problems lately with USPS. I have a package right now that shows it's been in Miami since Tuesday where it was dropped off. Should have been here by now.

Here's one that takes the cake. I sent a small flat rate package to a customer in MN from my shop in TX. When he received the package and opened it he was at a loss as to its contents were not to mention how they were supposed to fit on his reloading press. He sent me a picture of the parts that were inside the box and asked what they were for and had I mistakenly sent him the wrong parts. Needless to say I was shocked as I have no idea what the parts were. All I know is what he got was not what I sent. Not even close! The package was in good condition save for a small 1/4" diameter hole in one end and showed no signs of having been tampered with. My original invoice to him was in the box but no instruction sheets for my parts. My original parts have not been found as yet. The USPS tells me that probably what happened was that two packages broke open during sorting and that the parts were put back into the wrong boxes. This is pure BS. The package I sent wouldn't have broken open if you kicked it out the back of a C-130! There is something rotten going on and I got caught up in it. My return address has the words "reloading bench" in it so it gives me pause, if you get my drift. Just sayin'. Only good thing is that the package did arrive on time.

I ordered some parts for a Stevens 416 ( a pre war 22lr bull barrel target rifle ) on a Friday and I received them on Monday or Tuesday and was totally impressed with the service from USPS. Then when I opened the box and found out the part was milled back wards and I would have to return it, that took all the fun out of it.

Never understood until now what that expression backward compatible meant.

Butch, I had almost exactly the same thing happen a couple weeks ago. Tracking said the package zig-zagged back and forth between an intermediate sorting facility and destination, when the times were quite impossible. It's some sort of glitch in the tracking.

As far as USPS packages traveling long distances to sorting facilities and then back to closer destinations, that's the way things work these days. USPS have eliminated a lot of the smaller sort facilities, and nothing is sorted at the small PO's as they did back in the day. There is no "local" and "out of town" segregation. Even if you are shipping to your own zip code, it will travel to a sort facility and then back. From my understanding, local carriers don't even sort their route mail, it comes pre-sorted and routed. This is radically different than when I worked for the USPS. Machines optically sort mail much faster than humans.

I had a 52 C trigger that I sent to a friend for an 'upgrade'. Left Florida to NY. Went 2 day express mail. 4 days later it is still tracking in White Plains after having gone to his city for a delivery to his address, and then returned. Got back to South Carolina on the 11th day and turned around and went back to NY, different city this time where it sat for 4 days again and headed south. This time it got back to the shipping city, but turned around again and went north. 23 days later it is in White Plains again...sitting. So I called a friend who works as a postal Inspector who simply told them to deliver the box or he would put someone in jail. Delivered the next day. 25 days total time on a 2 day express mailing. Poo happens I guess.
