I got around using longer COAL in my Remington 700 with an old trick
I cut a notch in the bottom of the feed ramp --this is easy to do except taking the rifle apart but still a simple mod
I modified MDT mags by taking it apart--the inner plastic halves touch in the from same as the rear but I cut the plastic out into a 'gap" in the front being careful to leave some touching at the bottom so it will still register and line up ( 5 minute job)
Shown is a 2.540 overall length and you can see how much more room there is in the mag--These load like normal
I have not checked to see if I can still get 10 rounds in the mag yet I did have 7 yesterday and it fed and worked great and short std rounds hit way above the gap in the action so zero issue
