favorite 223 powders and bullets 7.7 twist

Wondering what you guys thoughts were on bullet and powder choices in standard 223 rem. 7.7 twist, 20" barrel in a bolt rifle. Im wanting to find a light(50-55g) and heavy (75-80g) that it'll shoot well and a powder that meters fairly well and is not picky about temp changes yet is still consistant and accurate. Any thoughts or opinions?

Reloder-15 or N-550 in WW or LC brass with WSR primers and 75 gr Hornady BTHP 0.020" off the lands. Your twist is slightly slow for the A-Max, but if your next barrel is a 1:7 I'd recommend them using the same basic load.

Ar-comp and a 77 sierra matchking

Benchmark and a 52-53 match king

Tac meters like a dream. Will be suitable for just about any weight projectile. I've never found it to be very temp sensitive.

55 grain bullet over H335 and it meters well. The load I use pushes it just over 3,000 fps out of an 18" barrel with a 1:8 twist.

Varget

Reloder 15
Reloder 10x

IMR4895
IMR4064 (except metering)
IMR8208

WIN 748

If none of these work, I'd be looking at a gun problem...

For the 75gr Amax and BTHP I use AA2520 powder. Very accurate in a custom barrel 1/8 twist M700.

And use Benchmark for the kids .223rem 55gr loads.

I have obtained good results with these bullets and powders with 1 in 8.

I've chambered 2 with a 7.7 twist the past 6 months. Both shoot 25 varget and 80 vlds .010 in extremely well.

I've chambered a 7 and an 8 with the same reamer too. Same load works well in those too.

+1. Close to what I am using. H335 with Nosler 52 grain hpbt in 1:8 twist.
