Fastest bolt action shooter.

That's some fast shooting. Imagine what he could do with more than those 5 round magazines. The video is amazing to watch.

Think you can shoot fast with a bolt gun? Bet you can’t beat these Norwegian speed-demons. Last year, Inge Hvitås recently set a new Mad Minute World Record, putting 39 rounds inside a 16″ circle at 200 meters, all in a single minute. Another Norwegian ace fired 48 rounds in a minute, with 38 in the bullseye.

Thats impressive.

What really got me is when his bolt jumped a round on the last mag, he felt it and quickly ran the bolt again. Thats a lot of feel for moving that quick.

I see he doesn't work the bolt on the last shot until the magazine change. Saving that hand motion. The other guy lifts the bolt then changes his magazine, needing twice the bolt touches.

That was neat,thanks for posting.

CRS,on "why" exactly but a cpl years ago got an early '70's little battery powered metronome off Ebay. 5$ or some such, made in USA and came with a battery.

It has two different major settings,with a speed dial to change that. Goes something like;

Beep,beep,beep,BONK. repeat with perfect regularity.

Standing, with a typical R700 bolt hunting rifle...... it is ALL I can do to get one halfway good dryfire every 1 second. Try it for one minute. Then check your pulse rate by dialing the little thing to match your wrist. I did that every day for a good while. Might have to go play with it some more. Fantastic muscle memory, and ability to keep pulse in check. IT ISN'T EASY.

That looks like fun. Is the Sauer 200 STR available in the U.S.?

Not really, there have been a few imported somehow but I only have seen 1 on gunbroker in the last couple of years. It was a few months ago and the listed price was $6000, it might have had the 22lr bolt and barrel but I forgot. The Sig SSG3000 is the same action but in 308 and the early ones had the same stock. I would like to own one too but I am not paying 6k for a max 2.5k rifle.

What I gleaned from the first two shooters is that their right hand never leaves holding the bolt handle until a magazine change. I seeing this style of shooting more often now with the PRS crowd. It may unconventional, but it sure for these shooters.

Not directly STR = Scandinavian Target Rifle.
Sold in Norway, Sweden and Denmark.
It's the same rifle as the 200 Target Rifle version with a different barrel.
But it is the same rifle action, mags and barrels that is used in the Sig SSG 3000 too.
The main difference is in the wood stock, which is not all that different from the original black wood stock that came with the SSG.

There's also Sig front/rear sight, mirage band coming along with it.

And most likely these guys are using the optional 0.5 kg trigger unit. As these rifles are supplied with a adjustable 1.5 kg trigger unit as standard.

And those barrels are not original.
Sauer, Schultz Larsen,Heym, Blaser and Walter delivers pre chamered barrels for the 200/3000 rifles in 308 and 6,5x55.

So while it is not directly available in most countries. The SSG 3000 is sold pretty much everywhere if one really wants one.
And 6 k$ is outrageous. A 200 STR sells for less then 2000$ where it is commonly available.

While I'm not exactly and expert on fast accurate shooting with a sling, I'm pretty sure that a lot of our custom actions would be competitive at that. Those rifles are purpose built for that style of shooting like anything else.

Not really purpose built for shooting fast. It's often a bare(1700 $)factory rifle with a action that was designed in 1985, the customization allowed is quite limited.
They might have a premade non factory barrel, the lighter factory trigger and a different bolt knob.

The only weapons that's approved for use is the 200 STR, M98 s and the Krag.
