Fast 22 idea, has it been done?

I've been kicking around cases to base a fast 22 on.
My friend and I have been discussing the merits of the case web and small primer of the x47L case, the general simplicity of the 22-250AI, the CDI factor of the 224 Vais and one that keeps popping up is the 22/6SLR.

Availability of dies and brass are always a consideration and I figured that 243 brass is pretty available and one could use a 6mmSLR bushing die set for forming and perhaps a 22-250AI seater.
Would the increase in capacity show any advantage over a 22-250ai case?
Has anyone done this combination yet?

How about a .22 Creedmoor..........

One size down from the 6 Creedmoor brass, use the 6 Creed dies with the appropriate bushing and whammo........

I`ve been kicking this around for some time, it`s just a bit smaller than the .22-243, seems like fun with the 75 Amax involved...

P.S......

I REALLY like Lapua brass where hot rods are concerned, i have even considered using .308 Palma brass just to get the small primer pocket and try to really lean on certain cartridges....

I`m just rambling now...... :o

I have never used the Hornady / Creedmoor brass....

Rumor has it that the primer pockets are "suspect" with HOT loads, i have NO first hand experience with this, so i am just repeating what i`ve read...

You could do a .22-243 30* improved.......

Whitley has the .243 30* improved dies, just change the bushings....

The print is on his page, i believe it has enough room to run the Lapua brass....

.243 win necked down to .224 with a .250 neck an 40 degree shoulder in a 15 twist (AKA) .22 Cheetah, speed won't be a problem, I shoot 52gr bergers 4100 fps without pushing them hard .

Like Snowpro said. It's ben done in the original Cheetah MK1 designed by Jim Carmichael & Fred Huntington. Just like the 22-6mm. Same as the old 224 Clark.

The only advantage today is better brass and a wider assortment of bullets.

Or u can run a 22 dasher. 22-250 AI speeds with less powder, Lapua brass and small primers. Not to mention the inherent accuracy of the BR based case.

If I did a .224" caliber I would do a 22-284 and run 80 - 90 grain bullets out of it. I'm sure it has been done, does anyone know what kind of speeds I could expect from a 26" barrel?

I like your spirit.
A friend of a friend was a big fan of the 22/6.5 Rem Mag.
Which is how this thread came into existence.

What kind of speed do you observe out of a 24" barrel with the Dasher or is a 26 requisite?

Idk that 26" is required but I'm running the 80.5 Berger in the 3380-3385fps area with a 26" and a mild load of h380. I done a little load work up in severe heat. I'll have to look to see the exact charge but pressure was low so I just kept it there in the heat. I plan on running it up just to see what the speed will be.

.22-6mm is a great high speed round, particularly if you want to shoot the heavier bullets. 3500 fps plus from a 26" 1/9 twist bbl. with 75 A-Max, around SD of 12 (H4831 SC) and easy extraction. Simple to make, just neck down and shoot. Friend has the AI version to avoid FL sizing and trimming, but requires fireforming and little improvement in speed. Hornady manual has loading data for the .22-6mm. Tried lighter bullets around 55 gr. and not much improvement over the .22-250 AI.
