Facts RE SIG P320 Issues?

According to Tests:
The P320 CANNOT, under any circumstances, discharge without the trigger first being moved to the rear. This has been verified through exhaustive testing by SIG SAUER engineers, the U.S. Military, several major federal and state law enforcement agencies, and independent laboratories.
--------------
The user needs to be aware of how to handle a P320 if it does not have a safety
I believe thats the bigger issue, User error
--------------
I've done a Light Trigger Job and Trigger Spring Kit on my P320
Still reliable with no issues
And people who drop their weapons, really need more weapon manipulation discipline
Maybe I need to buy another one before Sig changes and ruins a good platform based on user error
Just like the whole Rem 700 Walker trigger comspiracy debacle

Apparently the P320 striker has enough energy to fire the pistol if the sear disengages and the striker safety mechanism fails. The striker safety mechanism is supposed to stop the striker if the sear disengages without the trigger being pressed. Primer sensitivity probably plays a part.

I have watched several videos of P320 firing while in the holster and no hand on the weapon. These were not people trying to recreate the incidents these were surveillance and body cam videos of real life incidents.

Well that is def scary man
I will keep an eye on mine, as mentioned it has functioned flawlessly since day one
After shooting it and comparing to all other semi's from 1911's to Sigs and Glocks
it is the one pistol I have thought, that if I had to pick only one, That P320 10mm would be the one.
That's how much I am surprised to hear this compared to the experience with mine.
Maybe my trigger and spring mods actually helped it, who knows?

I like the P320 platform, it's comfortable and fits me well. This does rattle my confidence in it though, I never liked striker fire guns per say and the P320 was one of my first. I have always leaned towards the Sig P226... carried it for 20years and never had a problem and it fit me well . I also carried a P229 at times. I hope they get it figured out.

I know no one likes to watch long form videos of people blabbing for 30 minutes.

The short version is; with just a slight amount of take up on the trigger, if you apply a little pressure to the slide it will fire.

I'm a RSO at a military base range that rents many guns. The M-17 is one that sees a lot of use with many thousands of rounds put through them by sometimes inexperienced shooters. These guns don't see the care we would for our personal weapons. Never seen an AD and can't remember any type of malfunction. The 320 is striker fired and can't fire without the trigger pulled. With the gun at rest the striker is blocked and its spring is unloaded to a point it doesn't have enough energy to fire a round. Whoever started these rumors must not know much about the mechanics of the gun.

You really haven't researched it.

this could be because of worn parts, improper trigger job, Etc. I just remember when Freedom arms was sued due to an accidental discharge. It came out that the person had done his own trigger job on the gun and may have done it improperly. Even this showing up, Freedom Arms still lost the Lawsuit. This is the reason the cost of an FA went up drastically and why they will not sell a hammer or trigger, even to a gunsmith!

The following were released by Sig:

I have a Sig 220, Sig Nightmare and a 365. They’re good guns and I’ve never had an issue with them. That said, I wouldn’t buy or own ANY gun that has “reported issues” like the 320. There are plenty of other choices out there. Why take the chance?
