Factory ammunition - When is the last time you shot it?

I recently got a 280 AI and couldn't find brass at a reasonable price anywhere. I did find a couple boxes of Nosler loaded ammo for less than I could find brass so I bought them and shot one box. I then found some 280 rem brass so I haven't shot the other box until I have a chance to see how both kinds of brass behave.

Couple days ago

I don’t have the time to reload for everything I shoot. My reloading is catered to stuff i need to perform better than factory, or way cheaper.

i shoot factory 5.56, 9mm, 7.62x39, 3006, 6.5 creed, 357, and 300 win.

I reload 223, 300 prc, 3006, 6.5 creed, 243

no way I’m gonna sit down and weigh charges for 223 and x39 to go do running shootem up drills and blow 500 rounds. Not worth my time. The cartridges that crossover and I use both it’s either different rifles or different needs for what I’m doing.

with a toddler now, I’m falling back in love with factory ammo for even long range steel. You don’t need to be that accurate to ring a plate, and fgmm shoots pretty good.

Weekly , I buy a few boxes of shotshells so I don't have to use alot of Primers if I know I am going to shoot extra games of skeet... Really I have been shooting more factory ammo than reloads during this primer crunch and saving my primers for the future in everything....

I shoot CCI 9mm often in pistols, both aluminum and brass cased. Very reliable.

Federal .308 Win 168gr GM Match did, indeed shoot great in the Jennings rifle we've tested. We had a 5-shot group 0.233" group and check out the 3-shot groups. I tell you, the F-TR guys should really, really be looking at this stock design. It needs some mods to allow vertical adjustment, but the carbon fiber forearm and FAT tubular feet really worked.

And Lapua Factory 6mmBR ammo was spectacular in an Eliseo Tube Gun. Truly astonishing accuracy that we couldn't beat with our handloads. Here's an honest 5-shot in the ONEs as measured by OnTarget software. Oh, BTW, no tuner, and this was basically a brand new barrel!

1 round today, 30 TC, sighted in last Oct with suppressor on. Had suppressor off for use on coyote rifle. Thought today take it with to range and check zero since it rode to Wyoming and back. After getting a Teslong earlier this year I scoped the bore, dirty. Cleaned it. Today put suppressor back on, fired 1, 2" high 12 o'clock. Went back to the AR. I had made up 165 gmx handloads that shot to same poi at 300 as 165 SST factory and 165 SST handloads for elk and maybe deer.

Factory ammo is all I ever shoot..........in my 22LR guns! Last Summer, I joined some family in a Guys AR Blasting Day. Not wanting to shoot my precious accurate reloads, I took 500 rounds of factory and blew it! It was a good time. Given the circumstances of ammo availability, I REALLY felt guilty!!

Carry pistols only get carried with factory stuff.
30-06 anywhere from 5 tp 20 rounds a year.
12 gauge once in a blue moon .
22lr is obvious n
I did buy 2 boxes of federal 308 to get a few pieces of brass and a baseline a few years ago when i picked up a model 88.

Other than that most of my guns have never seen a factory load .

Picked up a 1930 model Savage 99 chambered in 300 Savage. Two boxes of factory ammo should last me till I croak. Doubt I’ll ever take it hunting since, well, I don’t hunt large game.

For over a 25 years I have almost exclusively shot my loads however I have a arsenal of factory ammo from when I worked at ATK should the need arrive

I have one of those I bought for my son, always loaded for it. It’s case hardened and looks almost new, he got hard up or so he thought and hocked it,…. I found out about it and got it back, been in the back of the safe quite sometime now. Someday he’s gonna want to go hunting and when he does I’m gonna pull that 99 out ,….. can’t wait to see the look on his face.
