Factory 6mm Benchrest Rifles

I guess I'll need to acquire parts and get a 6.5x47 Lapua built. I have read articles where guys have gotten 3,000rds out of their barrels and it was still accurate and the fact that the brass can handle 20 reloads is phenomenal.
I have three and love them. Easy to tune and brass lasts forever. I would be willing to part with one barrel. I'll PM details if you're interested.

I don't have funds right now, but I will by the beginning of the year. How many rounds down the tube?

How much do those actions cost? I'm guessing I'd need a Short Action?

Bud's Gunshop sells them for $550-$600. Also available from Northland Shooter's Supply for about the same price. I recommend the single port version (right or left, your preference). Avoid the dual port version, less steel, less strength.

I'm right handed, but I'm intrigued by the RBLP style. :)

That is my personal favorite. I'm also right handed and find them really convenient on the shooting bench. My tactical 10BA and hunting LRP are right port just because that's the only way they come, and probably a good idea for magazine feed. All of of my single shot target guns are RBLP.

What length is the barrel you have? I'm looking probably for 28"

I had a lot of success shooting the Savage LRPV 6BR in 600 yard Factory BR. Even had an overall agg of 2.xxx" for 4, 5 shot 600 yard groups. Just make sure you get an 8 twist. 12 twist would not be my choice for 600 yards. 105 Bergers in front of 30 grains of Varget and you will be good to go.

Was the Model 12 LRPV available new off the shelf ever available in 12 twist? I see that they are now only available in 8 twist.WD
