needing help picking 6mm cartridge

Im needing help picking a 6.mm all my other benchrest guns are 6.5 calibers i bought a savage duel port action and a krieger barrel ina7.5 twist i was looking between a 6br 6 dasher or a 6 long dasher any help

Hey Martin just build a dasher. Cheapest and easiest to get shooting.

If your just shooting out to 500 yds the 6BR is still A Dandy . The Dasher with 105's etc for out to 1K. I own both, they each do there job. Pete

What is a 6 long dasher? Between the 6BR or the 6Dasher, I'd go with the 6Dasher. There is the 6CM in a 7.5 twist shoots the 115 DTAC real well and fast with H-1000 with exceptional barrel life.

6br. If you think it's not fast enough after a while, ream it out to. 6brx. You'll already have dies. It will get you out to 1000. Maybe we will have some other 6brx guys chime in. I love mine. Crazy accurate.

My vote is the 6SLR or 6CM, then the BRX, Dasher, BR. I like velocity.

I would ask myself two questions to narrow the field down.

Do I care how much I spend on dies?

Do I care about case forming/fireforming?

6.5fan, If I was building a 6MM strickly for Benchrest, I'd build a 6Dasher. I know that I'll have one this year to play with. I have 6CM's, if that beast had not come along it would have been a 6SLR. Wait I don't have one of those, hhhmmm, guess I gotta get one of those also. ;D

I chose the straight 6BR. I can buy casings or even loaded ammo is need be....and if I dont like it....I can always get "chambered" to a variant
