F-open rest

I am new to the F-open class, I am shooting a Savage 12LRP in 6.5 creedmoor, I am looking for a suitable rest? I have borrowed various rests, such as the bald eagle with adjustable windage, but wasn't that impressed with the performance. I cannot afford a neo or other high end coaxial type rests. My budget is in the 500-650$ range. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

You need a joy stick rest or rest top. With a joystick you do not have to get out of your shooting position to adjust your aiming point.

There are other coaxial rests/rest tops out there. Butch actually makes a very nice coaxial rest top that I used for a while. Lookup Shadetree Engineering or I imagine you can send him a PM here. Ask him for sure, but I think you have several options in terms of what base you can use with it.

Other options might be the Caldwell Fire Control (I watched a National Record set at 500 yards off a Fire Control; but the guy shooting off of it really did not like it) or an original Seb Gen. 1 rest if you can find a used one for sale. Someone interested in moving up to a NEO might sell you theirs for the range of your budget...

A coaxial rest is best, but I used a Sinclair Competition before I got my Farley and had

no complaints. The rear speed screw for elevation and the windage adjustment were easily within reach while in shooting position. It goes for $650 new and less, of course, if you find one used.

Check out the JAK rest in the commercial advertisement sub-forum here, great rest, good price, and usually in stock.

Have you considered squeezing the rear bag for adjustment? I would do that until you can afford a Farley, they can be had for 750-800 used.
