F-Class: Share the Love...

We have a beginner class scheduled for February 17th and March 3rd at St.Louis benchrest. This has been a most enjoyable and successful project for our members as well as the instructors of the classes . As a group they will take the first step much easier than a individual will. Most say that they wished that they had started sooner and that speaks volumes. I can't recommend this enough for your clubs sake and match attendance . Mike

Having been a competitive shooter in years past, and re-starting the sport, I shot my first F-Class match today,
and would be more than willing to put my name down for a contact/mentor. I know how its supposed to be done
even if I am still practicing my implementation.

Hello from Rochester MN. I am looking into tring F-Class shooting. I see there are a couple ranges in MN, the Red Wing is just up the road. I went to one long range practice while in AZ that is my only experience with it. Anyone local to help?

It's time to bump this good thread to the front line. Shooting season is about here and time for new shooters to get some help. This is the place to meet your mentors.

I am in San Diego, we shoot @ 300 yards every third Saturday of the month in what we call a reduced Pala match. 300 yards is great to get your feet wet and learn basics. We would love to have anyone who just wants to shoot. Secondly, once you are comfortable, Camp Pendleton has matches from 600 to 1000 yards, also with a great group of shooters. If you don’t have equipment and just want to test the waters I can help you out.

This is a fun match to shoot and folks there will help you get started. Most shooters are competing F-T/R, Palma or Service rifles. Although the range is short, it is in the foothills and the winds can be pretty challenging. Sometimes, an inconsiderate jerk shows up with an F-Open rifle but that's the exception. ;)

I'm in Eastern/SE Iowa near Iowa City and I'm wanting to try some F-class (Open) shooting later this Spring into early Summer. I've been looking at the Des Moines Rifle & Revolver Club in Van Meter, IA, Milan Rifle Club in Milan,IL and PASA Park in Barry, IL as options to go to as they are all within 2 1/2 hr drive or less from me. Anyone shooting at any of these clubs want to help a new guy out?

You are definitly right! However, sometimes it's fun to take an arse beating just to watch the best do their thing, as such was the case in this instance. Can't wait to see you clean the clock with another un-Goddly amount of Xs.

I'm from the Inland Empire in Southern Kalifornistan. I shoot at the Desert Marksman in Palmdale, CA. We have 1K competition every other month. If you are interested, you can PM me and I'll be able to help you get started.

Man what a long winter trying to get supplies and ready for spring. We have a class at St.Louis on Sunday if anyone wants to jump in. The weather man says 43 degrees and sunny with a light wind to our backs. Good enough for me! A couple hours of class while the sun gets up and to the firing line men! We will start at 300 and finish at 600 with a round of fclass for score. We will be too busy to notice the weather anyway.

3/3/13 Too busy was a understatement this time. There are challenging days and today was one of those but we came out on top and we had fun.

It took me awhile to find this thread. I am sure a few new guys could use some help so I thought a bump was in order. We as shooters should support each other during these trying times. Information is better passed one on one and tailored to the individual. The only thing better than experience is more experience! I was helped and taught by a experienced shooter and it makes a huge difference. Our sport depends on this and this thread provides that opportunity.
