F-class scoring

Good point about the practice on Sunday. I was not planning to be there until Sunday afternoon when I did my spreadsheet, but things have changed and mow it looks like I will be there after all. So I should include about 20 rounds for that.

Who uses pencil and paper anymore? :)

Also, nowhere on the FCWC program is there mention of the 20 rounds for the last string on the second day. (I searched for "20", maybe I should also search for "twenty" and "XX". I must be getting old.) I also searched at IFCRA for a format with 2X15, 1X20, no joy. I had to scramble to update my spreadsheet.

I'm thinking of all the poor folks who will not be reading this thread and will be shooting in the FCWC.

Dennys,

47 proof readers didn't find the mistake! Go by what is in the FCN program. As Dean pointed out there is a practice on the 18th. Also what about fouling shots for the FCWC? What if you are involved in a shoot off? At the 2002 FCWC I shot 66 rounds during a shoot off at 700 meters before winning. You cannot have too much ammo at a match.

I was not one of them 47 proofreaders, obviously. ;)

I am now including ammo for the practice on Sunday the 18th. I'm thinking my barrel will be fouled enough after a full week of shooting, or just the practice on Friday.

Lastly, as I intend to win outright, there will be no need for a shoot off.

Good point about "too much ammo", I will bring all that I can load.

Dennys,
You are correct the 2+20 at 1k is not mentioned in the program. Again the proof readers didn't notice it. However it is in the Nice to Know Information and in the ICFRA F-Class Match Conditions rules FC4.1
http://www.icfra.co.uk/FCWCConditions_2009.pdf
Again people going to matches should read, not just search all they can about the matches they are attending.

Dear Larry,

Can you tell us - how many rounds minimum we should bring / prepare for the Nats, and the Worlds - both?
This including rounds for practice, sighters, shoot off, etc.

----------

Do you think we would be able to do re-loading during the spare time/day, for instance we only bring / have 250 pcs brass?

Thanks,
seb.

Seb,
Only you can figure the minimum number of rounds YOU will need. You can use the comments on this thread to figure the rounds you need, adding in the number of practice/ sighter's/fouler's you think you might want to take.

I can tell you, you will not have time during the day to reload. You would have to do it after the day's shooting is over. Keep in mind there are awards dinners on the 22nd and 25th which I am sure you will want to attend. It sounds like you will be up late loading.

Please understand that I am not (nit)picking on you. I've organized and ran international technical conferences many times over the decades and there is ALWAYS something that one overlooks. You can proofread stuff until the cows come home and on the first day you put it out, errors are reported.

I run the local monthly LR matches and I know how much work that is with the reports and whatnot. We also host TSRA 5 times a year and that's another set of programs to put together and proofread.

I truly appreciate all the good work you and your wife put into this.

Just so you know, I totally missed the 2&20 on the second day of FCWC individual when I read your nice to know. It was only because you mentioned it in your post that I went back and looked at it. It was interesting that the FCWC program spent an inordinate amount of time detailing the Team Matches down to the latest detail but not mention the individual course of fire. I "assumed" that the individual CoF would be equivalent to the Team Matches CoF.

I don't think I am unique in that and it might warrant being part of the pre-match announcements at the FCWC. (Not my non-uniqueness but the 2X15 and 1X20 on the second day.)

FWIW I am taking 650 to play it safe. I want to be free of any concerns about round count. Plus one in our group is bringing supplies for reloading the same caliber since he could not find enough brass to do the same.

I was very lucky to attend an NRA Summer Class at TrinidadJr College in 2010. Doesn't seem that long ago I heard this same question and we talked about getting ready for the Worlds. Larry passed on many tidbits of information that week. I wouldn't have ever entered a match had it not been for people like Larry and Dean Morris, who ran the first match I ever shot in OKC.

Ill be willing to bet, that I had plenty of rounds that day in OKC.

As I recall I just used my fingers and toes to come up with a round count.
